“Only little kids like Lily would look for Mommy,” Dallas said stubbornly, wrapping his arms around Audrey’s neck and nuzzling his face against her neck. “Are we going to see Grandma Anne and Aunt Harper today?”
“Yeah.” Audrey placed Dallas on the couch and went to heat some milk for him.
“Mommy’s work in Sheysea is almost done, so we’ll go back to Mythravia. Then you can go to Mr. Lambert Senior’s house just like Lily.”
“What about Mommy?”
Dallas ran into the open kitchen in his slippers. He climbed onto a stool with his hands on the seat and stared at Audrey intently as she heated the milk for him.
“Mommy is going to join the Lambert Corporation,” Audrey said with a faint smile.
