Chapter 14 The Jet

Whad’ya do with blood money from kidnappers pretending to be your parents? Blow it all on a private jet of course! It’s not like we didn’t have enough stored away for three lifetimes, so might as well put it to good use!

Do you have any idea how much time we could have saved just by buying the stupid thing? Instead of a fifteen hour drive from Arizona to Oklahoma, we can get there in two and a half hours in the air! Well, right now we were only renting it, but I was so close to just purchasing the thing and using it whenever I felt like, because, DANG! This was living!

I had been surrounded by nice things my whole life, don’t get me wrong. But mostly the money in our “family” only went to our parents… Now we knew why.

Didn’t make it right, but at least I understood it now.

I told Nate to go take a nap. He has been so stressed out, and with him passing out without Lissa and then all our strenuous searching and fighting, the guy definitely would need a vacation after this….

Although, with a baby on the way, I have a feeling that vacation will be a long time coming! From horror stories I've heard, babies wake you up every couple hours. They have to eat, get changed, held, cuddled, washed. But all they are good at in the beginning of life is eating, sleeping, and exploding diapers!

Man, I am so not ready for parenthood!

It’s definitely a good thing I still have a few years to wait. Plus I don’t know when Becky will want to have a baby… But I’m not a girl!

Also I heard teen girls like babies… No! I don’t wanna think about it! I will wait until I’m at least 20 and Becky is ready for a little one.

Huh… That sounded a lot like Nate and Lissa…

But I have a feeling Nate would take to it like a bird in flight. He doesn’t seem like he is scared of the responsibility of a little life, he is more worried he won’t be there to take care of them.

On the other hand, he has lived a very long and lonely life, so maybe this is exactly what he needs. He can start his own family and protect them with his life. Which is exactly what he is doing!

He would not let his little one live in a world where evil lurks everywhere. He’s gonna extinguish it to make the world a better place.

It makes me proud that I get to be a part of that! I can cleanse the world of evil for Lissa, Becky and my little niece or nephew.

I laughed at that! That would be so epic!

I looked at my phone. I sent Becky a message a while ago. It was pictures of the Grand Canyon and a few of us on the Maroon Bells. I was thinking of asking her to make our pictures into a scrapbook!

She likes arts and crafts stuff! Then we could share our pictures as our epic story progressed and it would give her something to do, besides listening to Lissa complain about Josh and Jeff.

I’ve also been getting daily updates from them too! Seems like Lissa likes to hang out with our new “maid” if that’s even what she is… I dunno, but they seem like best buds now! Also, she loves Sam’s cooking, and to be completely honest, I can’t wait to get home and have a home cooked meal either! Living off junk and fast food sucks! I want a real sit-down-dinner with my family… Maybe I’ll ask Sam to make a pot roast and some nice mashed potatoes and gravy when we are finally finished!

I think I’m drooling… How embarrassing!

Anyway, they also say they hang out with James in the garden and she seems really happy there. She even hangs out with his wife and daughter… Maybe we can get them all to move in with us?

It’s not like we don’t have the space! We even have a section of our minimansion that was supposed to be for servants, but our parents always had “outside help”... whatever that means.

And if by any luck, we can find Nate’s family, then we can all be one big happy family!

I smiled at the thought , when suddenly I felt the jet start to head down.

“We will be landing at the air strip in 10 minutes. Please make sure you are buckled. Thank you,” came the voice of the pilot over the speaker.

Nate came out of the private room, and gave me a sleepy smile as he buckled his seatbelt right by me.

We were finally here!
