After the tragic loss of her foster dad and the recent death of her uncle Kelly, Vanessa struggles to balance her superhero life and her school life. However when her science teacher Mr. Cashol accidently turns himself into a mythical creature, Vanessa has no choice but to help him, agreeing to teaching his classes and help him find a way to transform him back. With new responsibilities and new villains on the rise in Manhattan, can Vanessa put her horrible past behind her and save her city again? Or will our perseverant hero be beaten once and for all?
