I have been sitting in town waiting for an eternity for my email to load. I wasn't going to show up but I need to write a receipt for Cadence's rent payment. I forgot how terrible dial-up internet was. It actually makes me laugh.

When everything finally loads up I have an email from Cadence. My heartrate spikes and my palms start to sweat. It takes me so long to open it because I'm a little bit afraid it might be an email saying she's going to accept my rejection.

I've read it a hundred times. I can picture her crying as she writes to me. André comforting her. Why does he put up with that? Maybe it's because he knows how special she is too.

The whole way home I talk myself into calling her. I don't know what want but I think I should speak to her.

Cadence comes in right at the end of the call.

"Tony called?" she sounds hopeful.

"He did." I say as she sits down.

"Did he say what he wanted?"

"I think he wanted to talk to you but when I asked he chickened out".

She asks me in the sexiest pouty voice I've ever heard if I'll tell her what he said. I tell her it was private and then she asks if I'll tell her if she guesses.

It wouldn't. She'll know when Tony desides to tell her and not a moment before. I know he's a good man and he will do what is right.

Cadence doesn't seem to like my stance so she pouts so adorably I almost can't help but tell her but to my surprise she gives up that tactic quickly. Next she takes off her shirt.

She unbuttons her jeans and I swear she's about to pull them down, "I told him to come back to you".

She stops and stares at me, "you what?"

"I told him that he's a fool and that he needs to come back to you".

"You really said that?"

"Of course. I care about you and I want you to be the happiest you can be".

She walks over to me shirt still off and pants still open.

She takes my hand and leads me to her room. She shimmies out of her pants and lays back on the bed.

"You're the most selfless shifter I've ever met" she says quietly.

I ask her what she's doing and she says, "I'm giving myself to you".

I'm shocked, "Cadence you don't have to do this".

She looks at me who hooded lids, "I want to. I've wanted to for a while. Consider this my way of thanking you".

She sits up and beckons me with my index finger. This isn't what I had in mind but she's making it very hard to keep saying no.

Cadence slides off her panties and tosses them at me, "Just this once André".

I climb over her and she pulls me into a very heated kiss. She laces her legs around my hips and pulls me closer to her. I can feel the heat coming off of her.

She shrugs and I run my thumb over her cheek. She smiles at me and lays her head back on my chest and tells me she tired.

"Good to sleep".

"If you want to go shower you should but please come back to bed" she says sleepily.

I kiss her cheek, smooth down her hair and go shower. Tony is so damn lucky to have her.

I shower and get back into bed with her. She cuddles up to me immediately and I think that in another life Cadence and a in would have been perfect for each other but this beautiful bear deserves her true mate.
