Moirai
Epilogue

And that bombshell brings me back to where I am now, sitting in my room and writing up this tale. That was five days ago. Since then, I discovered that the entire elaborate plan of Loni – who was still my childhood friend...just we had started being friends here – being the Inventrix, the book being hidden from me until it was time, and mother joining me in the outer-world began. It was all because my life was too much at risk here. Indina could not reach me in the outer-world.

It explained so much; why Nerome and the map of Renenta and several other things had felt familiar, why Kasanda had been so shocked by my fear of magic – which she said was something Indina had included in the coma. I was angry at first, at being lied to, but Kasanda assured me that she didn’t know if telling me would trigger the coma again. Indina’s aura, she said, worked in strange ways. Now that she was dead, it was safe to tell me.

It’s taken me a few days to write this all down, and in those few days there was one more life-changing shock that my mother had for me, and it left me with even more questions. I didn’t believe her when she first told me, because it sounded so ridiculous and its implications were horrifying. But she assured me that it was the truth.

Centurion was my father.
