Chapter 13 Blocks Game

Chapter 13 Blocks Game

Ivan soon received a notification that “L” had accepted his order, and he breathed a sigh of relief. He thought about the little boy who looked exactly like him.

So he opened his browser and searched.

[Do half–siblings look exactly alike?]

He clicked on the top–ranked post, filled with pictures of people who shared their half–siblings. Nervously, Ivan read through the post, and the light in his eyes gradually dimmed.

There were some who resembled each other, but none were exactly identical.

He looked at the boy just as when he looked in the mirror. The memory was still fresh. Ivan could no longer deceive himself.

So, he had siblings!

His mother had more than one child, but she took away the others and left only him.

According to Karen, he was found by his father in the hospital corridor.

Karen’s words couldn’t be trusted, so he subtly asked Gary and found out that it was indeed Maximilian who found him.

Tears welled up in Ivan’s eyes, and perhaps there had never been a moment as sad and lost as this. The afternoon passed by in a mess.

In the evening, when Ivan got home, he locked himself in his room.

He picked up a book to read but couldn’t focus.

Just then, there came a knock on the door.

Maximilian said, “Ivan, come out.”

Ivan didn’t move. He remained frozen in front of his desk.

Maximilian frowned and was about to fetch the key.

Beside him, Evelyn spoke. “Mr. Wolfe, let me handle this.”

She gently knocked on the door and spoke in a soothing voice. “Ivan.”

Ivan listened attentively but remained cautious.

“Ivan, do you remember me?” Evelyn said, “I was here yesterday.

Ivan looked down at the healed wounds on his hand, moved slightly, but still didn’t open the door.

Maximilian had fetched the key.

Evelyn held his hand and pleaded with him like coaxing a child, “Just wait a moment. One more.

Maximilian narrowed his eyes. “Are you trying to coax me like a child?”

“Children need coaxing, and so do men.” Evelyn lightly patted Maximilian’s chest. “Good boy.” Surprisingly, Maximilian didn’t get angry.

He turned around, silent, and sat down on the sofa.

Evelyn had enough patience for her son. “Ivan, can you bear to make me wait? I’m so pitiful…” The next second, the door opened.

Ivan walked out expressionless, coldly staring at Evelyn.

Evelyn looked at the redness in her son’s eyes and felt deeply saddened.

She squatted down and suddenly reached out to hug him.

Ivan was taken aback and instinctively tried to evade, but Evelyn was too quick. She had already wrapped her arms around him and held him close.

She held Ivan’s petite body and felt it was almost the same size as Lucas.

Perhaps Ivan hadn’t been hugged like this before. His body stiffened at once.

“Ivan, my name is Evelyn, you can call me… Evelyn,” Evelyn said.

Ivan remained silent.

Evelyn wasn’t discouraged. She held Ivan’s small hand and led him to the living room sofa.

“From now on, I’ll come every day to help you with your insomnia,” Evelyn said, “Ivan, you have to feel any pressure. Just do whatever you want.”

Ivan looked at Evelyn curiously.

The woman in front of him was beautiful, even more attractive than the celebrities he had seen on

Moreover, he felt a strange familiarity with her, as if he had met her in a dream.

He didn’t say anything, and there was even a part of him that wanted to escape. He had used to darkness and would be instinctively afraid of light.

Evelyn looked at her silent son and thought of her lively other two children, and a pang struck her.

of sorrow

“Ivan, how about we play a game together? Build with blocks?”

She turned to ask Maximilian, “Do we have any blocks at home?”

Maximilian wanted to say that Ivan had found these toys boring after he turned four and hadn’t played with them since.

However, when the maid brought the blocks, Evelyn sat on the carpet and started building. Maximilian watched in astonishment as his own son walked over, picked up the blocks, and started building silently.

“You said this stupid.”

Ivan remained silent.

Evelyn, however, looked at Maximilian like a protective mother and sternly said, “You know nothing. Ivan is the smartest and most adorable child I’ve ever seen!”

Ivan turned to look at Evelyn Incredibly.

After shouting at Maximilian, Evelyn leaned over to kiss Ivan on the cheek, saying, “I love you most, Ivan!”

Instinctively, Ivan pushed Evelyn away, but embarrassing heat spread from his cheeks to his ears.
