As the days passed, another week passed before anyone knew it. It was now Friday morning. It’s been seven days since the attack on their Luna. Everyone was on edge about when the Luna would wake up or when their Alpha would be able to find out what her scent would be once the scent blockers wore off and out of her system. Nobody knows when it will happen. It’s anyone’s guess. Until that day, life in the pack continues as usual, or so they thought. Luca woke up on Friday morning and then realised it’s been a week since his mate was attacked and rescued. He sighed as he exited and headed towards the bathroom after changing clothes and showering. After showering, getting dressed and ready for the day, he exits the bathroom and heads towards his mate’s bed. As he approaches her bed, he notices the light, subtle scent he can make out from the other scents in the room; it smelt like roses with a hint of vanilla. Luca then realised it was coming from his mate when he knew no flowers were in her room. The scent blockers had finally withdrawn from her body, he realised. He was so excited and happy, plus he couldn’t wait to let the pack and Gabriel know. He decided to have fun with the doctors when they arrived to check on his mate.

He didn’t have to wait long before Cristian and Arianna, the two doctors looking after his mate, entered the room. Let the fun begin, he thought to himself as they both headed towards his mate, as they both said good morning to him. Luca returns the greeting to both doctors. Arianna asked him if he had a good night, and he replied, “Yes, l did, but this morning is even better,” he said with amusement. Cristian then asks him, “Why, what’s happened?” Arianna looks at Luca as he replies with mischief because he already knows the answer but asks it anyway, “Can you scent anything in the room?” Cristian looks at him strangely, but then Arianna speaks up, finally understanding but not surprised at what Luca asks. “The scent blockers have finally withdrawn from her system, haven’t they?” Luca answered, “Yes, they have,” he told them. Cristian asks him, “What can you scent now that they have been removed from her system?” Luca says, “Yes, l can subtly scent roses with a hint of vanilla”, smiling as he describes the scent coming out of her body to the two of them. The doctors were excited at hearing this news, knowing that everyone in the pack was waiting to hear about when or if it would happen.

At last, it has happened. The pack are going to be ecstatic about the news. Arianna then asks him, “When will you inform the pack?” Luca replies to her, saying, “I was thinking about having a pack meeting later this morning to inform them of the latest development after l called Gabriel and asked him why,” he asked her. Arianna answers him by saying, “Oh, nothing, but the pack will be thrilled at hearing the news about the Luna,” she told him. Luca replies, “Yes, they will be thrilled at the news about the Luna. I can’t wait to inform them and Gabriel,” he tells them both. Cristian and Arianna both have a smile on their faces as they say, “Me too., they then say, “And to see their reactions to the news”. Luca smiled back at them as he asked, “How is she otherwise?” Cristian replied to him, “She is going well, Luca, shouldn’t be much longer now. I think it’s time that you go and go and get something to eat for breakfast, and the morning training session begins,” Arianna writes her notes into Rosa’s chart and agrees with him by nodding her head in acknowledgement. Luca’s stomach then decided to growl at that precise moment. They all laughed at the sound, and Luca agreed with them. He said he would see one of them later at the pack meeting. Arianna tells him she will be coming to the meeting. Luca then says to her okay, l will see you then and nods her head with acknowledgement as he heads out of the room, heading towards the pack house for breakfast.

Luca arrived at the pack house ten minutes later, entered the dining room, and sat at the table where everyone was seated and waiting for him. As soon as he had sat down, the food was served. Everyone stayed until Luca, Stefano and his brother, Costantino, had served themselves, and the rest helped themselves. Luca was enjoying his time as he kept thinking of the news he was about to announce at the pack meeting. When breakfast was nearly over, Luca announced that there would be a pack meeting after the training session that morning. He has something to inform the entire pack, but not before he first calls Elder Gabriel about it. The pack members, including Stefano and Constantino, look at him, hoping the news is about their Luna. Luca sees the hopeful look on their faces but informs them that everybody will find out what the announcement will be at the meeting. Until then, they are to attend to their duties. They all replied, “Yes, Alpha!” Luca then dismissed them from the table when they finished eating. When Luca finished eating, he thanked the kitchen staff for the meal and headed towards his office to call the Elder.

As Luca sat down behind his desk, he pushed the numbers for the Elder, who answered it at the other end after two rings. “Hello, this is Elder Gabriel Lombardi speaking. How may l help you?” he inquires. Luca replies to the Elder, “Gabriel, it’s Luca calling, and l have a new development to inform you of,” he told the Elder. Gabriel then asks him, “Is it Rosa?” Luca replies, saying, “Yes, it was regarding Rosa. When l woke up this morning, I could smell a subtle scent in the room. Then l looked around the room, but there were no flowers in her room, and l realised then that the scent was coming from Rosa. The scent blockers have completely withdrawn from her system,” he explained to the Elder. Gabriel replies to him, “Luca, that’s fantastic news” he says to the Alpha, who says, “Yes, it is good news, and l am about to announce it to the pack after the morning training session” he informed the Elder, who then replied, “Okay will you keep me updated on anything else that happens” he asked the Alpha. Luca replied, “Of course, l will let you know,” he said to the Elder, who replied, “Good and hopefully, l will be hearing more from you soon,” he said to him. Luca then replies, “Yes, hopefully, there will be more news to tell you soon, and you will be able to come and see for yourself” he replies to the Elder, who then says to him, “Until then, look after her and your pack Luca and l will see you soon,” he tells the Alpha who answers by saying “I will Gabriel l will and we will see each other soon bye as the Elder replies “Bye for now” before they end the call and hang up the phone.

Luca sees the time on his watch. This morning’s training session is over. He reminded everyone of the meeting and told them to head to the hall, where he would make his announcement. Everybody replied, “Yes, Alpha!” Luca himself makes his way to the meeting hall. As he enters, some of the pack members come in behind him and quickly make their way to their seats and sit down. Luca heads towards the platform where Stefano and his brother stand, waiting for him to address the pack waiting for his announcement. Luca faces his pack members and announces that the scent blockers have withdrawn from Luna’ Rosa’s system and that her scent has been released. They all cheered and clapped at the news. Then Stefano asks him, “What is her scent like for future reference?” Luca answers him by saying, “Her scent is of vanilla-scented roses” he tells everyone so that they can hear as well as he continues, “I have also conversed with Elder Gabriel about the development and would like to be kept updated when anything else happens” he informed them. Luca then dismisses them so they can freshen up for lunch, which will be served in thirty minutes. Everyone went to do as their Alpha said, and that included himself. The pack members started to walk out of the meeting hall and went to their respective homes or the pack house to freshen up. When everyone had freshened up, they went to the dining room and served the food on the table just before they arrived. Luca and the others sat down and then served themselves, and the rest helped make a plate of food. When everyone had finished their meal, they left before they thanked the kitchen staff for the meal and went back to their duties while Luca and the others finished their meals. When Luca ate his food, he told Stefano and his brother that he would be doing paperwork at the hospital with his mate. He left the dining room and headed towards the pack hospital and his mate.

He arrived ten minutes later and got stuck into the stack of paperwork on his desk waiting for him to be completed. As he was doing this, the rest of the day went quickly, and before long, it was time for the afternoon training session and dinner. Luca stayed at the hospital and tried to finish as much of the paperwork as possible. There was a soft knock on the door, and Luca told the person to enter; it was Stefano with a plate and a drink in each hand. He informed his Alpha that the kitchen staff had kept a plate for him. Luca thanks him for bringing it over. Stefano says, “No worries, Alpha, it was good news today about the Luna,” he said to him. Luca answers him with a smile, “Yes, it is good news. How was training this afternoon,” he inquired as he started to eat his dinner. Stefano replies, “Well, according to Giovanni and the others, training is going great, and everyone has improved immensely especially the young ones” he informed the Alpha. Luca replied to him, saying, “That’s good to hear that they are doing well,” as he finished consuming his meal. Stefano replies, “Since her scent has come through, it’s only a matter of time before she wakes up,” he says to his Alpha. Luca answered, “Yes, it could be a matter of days, and we need to be ready for it when it does,” he said. Stefano replied, “Yes, we will anyway. l will leave you to it. l am heading off to bed, so l will see you in the morning if you don’t need me for anything else,” he asked his Alpha. Luca replies, “No, l don’t need anything, for now, l will see you in the morning,” he says to his Beta, who replies, “Okay, Alpha, l will see you in the morning; good night to you and the Luna” he returned as he walked to the door to leave as Luca said “Goodnight Stefano” and he left the room. Luca sighed and went into the bathroom to get ready for bed. When he had changed into his night clothes, he waited for the doctors to arrive to do the final check-up on his mate before taking a much-earned break.

They came in the next few minutes and entered the room. Cristian would be the one to examine Rosa as Arianna and Luca talked about what happened at the meeting. When Arianna and Luca finished talking, Cristian finished writing and putting his notes into her chart. Cristian asks the Alpha, “Rosa is the same as this morning. How is her scent?” he asked him. Luca replies, “Still there but subtle like this morning,” he said. Cristian answered, “Okay, that is all for tonight, and we will see you both in the morning,” he said to him. Luca replied, “Okay, thanks. Goodnight to you both, and we will see you tomorrow,” he said to them both. They both reply to him, “Goodnight, Alpha,” and leave the room. Luca goes over to Rosa and says goodnight. Luca kisses her on the forehead while caressing her cheek. After spending a few minutes with his mate, Luca turns around and heads for bed. He quietly slips between the sheets, and as soon as his head hits the pillow, he falls asleep thinking about what happened that morning.
