Chapter 19 Love’s Triangle

Phoenix looked at me for direction. I gave her a confused look. She took my hand and led me to Quinn. She had just cleaned the couch with a bleach based cleaner. Quinn was right to clean the couch. The fumes stung my nose and my heart ached. She saw the look on my face and pulled me in for a tight hug. “Phoenix, get in here,” Quinn called. She smiled and ran over and wrapped her arms around us. It felt so fantastic to be in Quinn’s arms again. Phoenix hugs were pretty special too. “Come on, let’s go talk.” She took each of us by the hand and led us to our bedroom. An uncomfortable silence permeated the truck. “Do you know where Melissa is?” Davy inquired. I nodded my head. “Melissa?” Quinn queried. “My mother,” I answered. I drove to the hotel and called Melissa to come out with Dylan. Once they piled into the truck, we began the long journey to the airport.

“What happened? How did we get here,” Dylan pondered aloud. “Witches cast a spell on you to be their unwillful minions. They forced Davy and Melissa to kidnap you. They forced Davy to attack me and my pack. Don’t worry about the witches, they are dead now,” I replied. Melissa gasped, “Reese, how can you be so callous and speak about death with such carelessness.” I growled loudly at her. “Reese, Do you have to be so hard on them,” Quinn asked. “I’m not hard on Dylan. The rest of the trip to the airport was painfully silent. Davy, Melissa, and Dylan were barely out of the truck before I put the pedal to the metal and got out of there.
