Chapter 32 

“Isn’t it?” Joshua said with a painful frown, still radiating a cold aura. 

“Even the worst person on earth wouldn’t say something like that.” Cynthia was furious and felt that he was superficial. “Why should I feel inferior for your mistakes? Without Jayleen, I would only live better.” 

“Go ahead and give it a try.” Joshua was irate too and spoke without thinking twice, “Let’s see who else would be willing to give you so much in a divorce settlement.” 

“Cynthia, we need to know our place. I admit you’re outstanding, but there’s no shortage of outstanding people in the world,” Joshua continued. 

“Business people are most concerned with their interests, and there will be a prenuptial agreement before the marriage. Once you divorce them, you won’t get a penny,” Joshua warned. 

After punching him, Cynthia’s heart was a little calmer. “Are you 

done?” 

“The Yates family is not your backing, and you are not Shirley Yates,” Joshua said. 

“I don’t need you to remind me. I didn’t get married to get a divorce settlement,” Cynthia said in a serious manner. 

Joshua was stunned. 

“It doesn’t matter if there’s a prenuptial agreement. All I want is someone who loves and cherishes me, someone to build a happy home together.” Cynthia continued, and her last remaining bit of patience had disappeared, “Don’t use your life and character to judge others. Not everyone is a scumbag like you.” 

After saying this, Cynthia left without waiting for his response. 

Joshua remained in a daze for a long time, his mind filled with Cynthia’s words. 

She said all she wanted was someone who loved and cherished her. 

A huge sense of uneasiness rose in Joshua’s heart, as if something had left his life forever and would never return. 

“Mr. Neal…” Yoel tentatively called out, unable to express his emotions. 

Mr. Neal had a fight with Mrs. Neal, and Mrs. Neal even hit Mr. Neal.

“Do you think she’s right?” Joshua asked.

“If she doesn’t care about money, why did she ask for so much when we filed for divorce?” Joshua felt as if his surroundings had turned colder. It sounded like he was trying to convince himself. “What she says sounds noble, but in reality, it’s all the same.” 

Yoel hesitated, but he thought he needed to speak what was on his mind. 

“I don’t think Mrs. Neal is that kind of person.” 

“She’s really good at manipulating people. Even you fell for it.” Joshua’s tone was cold, and his impression of Cynthia grew worse. 

Yoel was nervous, but he remained calm and analyzed the situation. 

“According to our country’s law, the post–marital property belongs to both husband and wife, so it’s normal for Mrs. Neal to ask for half.” 

He did not dare to say that even the second young master thought what Mrs. Neal did was right. 

“I didn’t ask for anything from her.” 

“That’s because you didn’t want it.” 

Joshua suddenly scolded, “Yoel!” 

“Mr. Neal, let me say something you may not want to hear.” Yoel bit the bullet and continued, not wanting Joshua to have a twisted moral compass, “You had an affair first, and Mrs. Neal was already kind enough not to kick you out of the house.” 

Joshua asked, “When did I have an affair?” 

Yoel kept a straight face and did not dare to answer. 

Joshua became angrier.
