Chapter 3 

Giselle finally shook off this illusion after getting the marriage certificate. 

She bit her lip as she walked out of the City Hall with Hymes. “I know many people like to get married after dating each other briefly, but I didn’t expect myself to be one of them. I guess everything has a first–time experience.” 

A smile overflowed from Hymes‘ frosty look. He said in a low voice, “Giselle, I won’t let you regret marrying me 

“There’s no need to regret what has been done. Oh, we haven’t signed a prenup yet. I don’t have many savings, but do you want to sign one to protect your property?” 

“No need,” Hymes suddenly changed his mind after getting the marriage certificate, saying, “I don’t have much property either, but I’ll take out a part of it as our daily use, and I think it’s necessary to let you take charge of it.” 

“Me?” 

Giselle was slightly surprised. “You don’t have to. We only need to transfer some pocket money to a spare bank account. And if extra expenses are needed, we can talk about them later.”

Giselle didn’t know what was on Hymes‘ mind. After checking the new message on her phone, she hurriedly said, “I have to go back to the company right now. We can continue our chat at dinnertime.”

Before Giselle left, Hymes stopped her. “Giselle.” 

“Yes?” 

Hymes handed a document bag to Giselle. “These are the certificates of all of my assets. There’s also a credit card inside.” 

Giselle was in a hurry to go back to the company, so she took the document bag without looking at it. “Okay. Talk later!” 

Giselle decided not to use Hymes‘ money because she believed that he didn’t have too many assets. Therefore, she didn’t check the content of the document bag 

After Giselle left, a black Maybach slowly approached Hymes and parked beside him. Then, the driver came out to open the door for Hymes. 

After getting into the car, Hymes stroked the marriage certificate and smiled faintly. “I’m not going to the company. Take me home. I’m going to pack up my luggage” 

The driver replied, “Okay” 

Hymes‘ secretary, who was sitting in the passenger seat, asked, “Sir, you gave all your assets to… your wife. What if she finds out?” 

Hymes said, “She can’t figure out those documents of shareholding and bonds.” 

Only a professional could tell that those documents in a foreign language represented Hymes‘ financial assets worth over tens of billion dollars. 

On her way back to the company, Giselle took out the documents and read them briefly, but she thought they were just some useless paper that Hymes had put inside by mistake. 

Chapter 3 

Giselle didn’t think more about these documents. When she walked into the company, the security guard looked at her and felt a bit distressed. He asked, “Miss, why did you come back again?” 

“Why not? I work here.” 

Giselle smiled slightly, with a trace of charm overflowing from her beautiful eyes. “Nobody can force me to leave this company unless I quit.” 

A minute later, Giselle walked into the office. 

Nobody noticed her arrival immediately because her colleagues were busy staring at Mickey and congratulating Jenny for becoming Mickey’s new girlfriend. 

Mickey generously agreed that he would treat everyone to dinner. He said, “Let’s have dinner on Friday after work! I’ll pay for whatever you want to 

eat!” 

Jenny had just become Mickey’s girlfriend, and she got to show off her new relationship in front of everyone. She put on a smug look and couldn’t be happier while being flooded by all the blessings and flatteries. “I told him to keep a low profile, but he didn’t… 

Jenny’s flaunt paused abruptly when she saw Giselle standing not far away. Jenny’s pupils shrank, and she shouted, “Giselle? Why did you come 

back?” 

“Why shouldn’t I come back? I work here, and I’m one of the best employees. Besides, I didn’t make any mistakes while working.“” 

Giselle was the vice director of the agent department, and Mickey was the director of the commercial department, so it could be said that Mickey was Giselle’s leader. 

However, Mickey wasn’t the president of the company. Since the president never fired Giselle, she certainly had no reason to quit this job. 

Mickey was enjoying the limelight when he saw Giselle, who hadn’t shown up for days. Instead of being gloomy and lovelorn, she seemed even brighter and more charming…. 

Mickey felt quite annoyed. 

He had dumped her in front of everyone, but Giselle seemed extremely calm and didn’t even cry or beg him to come back to her.

Giselle couldn’t help but feel sick. She didn’t know why she had agreed to be Mickey’s girlfriend back then. 

However, Mickey kept bugging Giselle. “I think we can make a dinner reservation at the Joyland Hotel, which is owned by Jenny’s family. You don’t want to join us? Is that because you still have feelings for me?” 

Jenny’s smug smile faded a bit. She was a pretty woman, but Giselle was more beautiful than her. 

Secretly, Jenny feared that Mickey would get back together with Giselle. 

Thinking of this, Jenny’s eyes widened, and she pretended to be innocent, asking, “Giselle… Are you staying in the company because you can’t let go of Mickey?” 

Giselle couldn’t help but titter. “Why should I put on the clothes that had already been worn out? I’m not a fan of wearing garbage.”
