Chapter 67 

The journey home on a rainy day felt much longer. 

Despite the occasional traffic, she could feel the presence of Hymes, which was a new and refreshing experience. 

When she was dating Mickey in the past, they never seemed to have such warm and ordinary moments. 

Mickey was a person who loved excitement and socializing. 

He always wanted to take Giselle out and have fun. 

Even after a tiring week of work, when Giselle wanted to stay home and rest, Mickey would try every way to take her to crowded places. 

He would also invite all his friends, forming a large group. 

Looking back, Mickey might not have been doing it just for fun, but more to show off to his friends that he had a presentable girlfriend like Giselle. 

That was why he would completely disregard Giselle’s exhaustion and thoughts, selfishly deciding on their dating activities. 

As she thought about this, she asked Hymes, “What about tomorrow, the weekend… Do you have any plans? Maybe we can go out and have fun somewhere nearby?” 

Hymes looked at her gently. “What about you? Where would you like to go? If you have any place in mind, just let me know. and I’ll make the arrangements.” 

“Actually… most of the time, I prefer staying at home on weekends, because I’m so tired, I just want to lie in bed and sleep.” 

Hymes smiled slightly. “Alright, then let’s just lie in bed, do nothing, and spend a lazy, unproductive weekend.” 

Giselle was a bit worried. “Won’t you find it boring? It feels like we’re wasting time…”

Hymes‘ eyes turned icy cold. 

Giselle told Hymes about her visit to Pino Capital earlier in the day. She said, “I’m not sure why good fortune fell from the sky and I’m a little uneasy about it. But since the opportunity has been handed to me, it would be foolish not to take it.” 

After all, people had to take risks sometimes.

Hymes chuckled. “If you become unemployed, I’ll support you.” 

As they faced a traffic jam, Hymes turned to Giselle, and the look in his eyes beneath his deep–set brows was filled with intense emotions, making her heart race. 

Indeed, Hymes could easily stir her emotions, and he knew exactly how to lure her into his trap. 

He was a dangerous, wild beast, and even though he bared his fangs, she couldn’t help but be drawn to him. 

Hymes was a nearly fatal temptation for Giselle. 

She couldn’t deny that she was developing feelings for him. 

“I don’t need you to support me! I’ll work hard and earn money!” 

Giselle said, turning her face away. Only the blush on the tips of her ears betrayed her emotions. 

Hymes grinned. “I’d actually like to see that.” 

Giselle’s heart raced faster and faster, and she struggled to control the feelings that seemed to emerge more frequently lately. She wasn’t used to it, but she couldn’t help but enjoy it. 

Despite arriving home later than usual, Giselle didn’t mind the traffic jam. 

And with Hymes taking care of filling the fridge and cooking, she just had to sit back and enjoy, leaving her with nothing to complain about. 

Hymes took out a steak from the freezer. “How about this for dinner?” 

“Sure, whatever you cook, I’ll eat. I’m not picky.” 

He looked pleased. “You’re so cooperative.” 

“Of course! Your cooking is always at a level worth paying top dollar for. I’m honored to taste it. How could I be picky?” 

Hymes smiled gently. “You always have the right to be picky.” 

Chapter 67 

Giselle caught her breath, then covered her face with her hands and said shyly, “I’ll go change first…” 

She needed to get a grip on her emotions, or she’d easily embarrass herself in front of Hymes. 

Giselle feared that he would see through her girlish crush–like feelings, as she wasn’t the most innocent person. But she couldn’t help but be affected by him. 

When Giselle came downstairs again, her steps slowed. 

She saw a sight that made her heart leap with joy and excitement. 

The living room lights were off, and two tall candles were lit on the dining table. 

The warm, yellow glow filled the room, illuminating two perfectly cooked steaks. 

Hymes somehow produced a bottle of red wine out of nowhere and had already poured it into a decanter. 

At this moment, the view from the window was still filled with thunder and pouring rain, the entire city shrouded in mist, as if the end of the world was near. Yet, in such an environment… 

As she was caught off guard and at a loss for words, Hymes, with a stern expression and elegant posture, pulled out a chair next to the table. “Please, have a seat.” 

At this moment, Giselle truly felt as if she was about to succumb.
