Mr. Webb Make Your Move! by Tammy Chapter 7

Chapter

The door to the conference room was locked for almost an hour. When it was over, Zara meticulously wiped down the table with several alcohol wipes.

After she finished cleaning up, she turned around, only to see that Yosef had returned to his usual well–dressed and aloof appearance. Only if one looked closely could one spot the small wrinkle on his shirt. It was a silent testament to how he had failed to hold himself back just

now

Zara picked up his tie and walked over to help him with it

Yosef was accustomed to this and raised his chin slightly, revealing his Adam’s apple. As Zara’s fingers deftly tied his tie, she murmured, “I want to go back to the headquarters.”

Yosef’s eyes narrowed slightly as he watched the woman’s modest demeanor. He said in an even tone, “I told you there was no need to head back to the headquarters until we wrapped up the project.

Now that the project is done, you’re free to return if you want. No one’s holding you back.”

After Yosef wrapped up the project inspection, they headed back to Starville. Zara was added to

the team.

Beatrice cocked her head to the side and asked Yosef, “Mr. Webb, is it okay for Ms. Lowry to

come back with us?”

Yosef glanced up from his papers and gave a nod. Beatrice’s face lit up with a beaming smile. ” Awesome! Ms. Lowry, you’ve been away for business for two whole months. I’ve missed you!”

Zara observed the young lady. Her blush was a lively orange, and her eyeliner stopped short of reaching the outer corners of her eyes, giving her a fresh and adorable look.

She praised, “You’ve really put effort into your makeup.”

It was as if each touch of her makeup brush had been perfectly placed to charm, just like a

painting.

Beatrice’s eyelashes fluttered, and she gave a small smile.

The plane touched down in Starville as evening fell, and the driver came to pick the three of

them

  1. up. When Yosef informed the driver to take Beatrice home first, the driver knew where to
  2. go

Zara gazed out at the city she had been away from for two months, her mind wandering. Only when the car came to a halt did she realize they were not in Beatrice’s old neighborhood.

They were at a swanky complex right in the heart of the city, just a stone’s throw from the

Beatrice stepped out and waved cheerfully. “Mr. Webb, Ms. Lowry, It’s been tough on the both of you. Get some rest. See you at the office tomorrow!”

Yosef acknowledged her with a nod. He then watched as she disappeared into the gated community.

As the driver got the car moving again, Zara quizzed, “You bought her a place here?”

Yosef’s attention drifted back to the stack of papers on his lap. He had been buried in them the whole ride.

He replied without looking up, “It’s just another one of my properties. Her old neighborhood wasn’t exactly the safest, and I didn’t want her to have any burdens, so I told her it was a rental. Make sure you keep that to yourself.”

He thought of something that seemed to amuse him, and a smirk crossed his face. “She’s so clueless that she even insists on paying me a thousand dollars for rent every month.”

“In Starville, you can’t have a place for less than five grand a month,” Zara pointed out. Anyone with some common sense would know the rent has to be more than a thousand.”

Yosef raised an eyebrow. “And?”

Well… Beatrice was crafting an image of someone who was self–respecting, self–loving, and self–reliant for herself. She was playing a cautious game, and she was in it for the long run.

Yosef chose to believe Beatrice was just being ‘clueless‘. What could Zara possibly say to that?

A faint smile played on Zara’s lips. “Mr. Webb, ever so thoughtful.

When they arrived at East Coast, Zara had barely stepped out of the shower when she found herself pinned to the bed.

He was not satisfied after the session back in the meeting room, and it was clear he was not planning on giving Zara a break tonight.

His intensity made her suspect that he had been abstinent in the last two months.

“You… You’ve never been with her, have you? I thought she caught your eye?”

Yosef’s grip on her waist tightened, his breaths coming hard and fast. “She’s clueless about

that stuff.”

..You really think someone in their 20s would be clueless about this? I mean, even if you haven’t done the deed, you’d at least know the basics, right?”

“She was raised right, with old–school values. She’s not big on doing that kinda stuff before marriage.”
