Chapter 437

Esther noticed that Jacob seemed slightly uneasy, and it was enough for her to understand his feelings. He longed for his mother so much but did not know how to interact with her due to the five-year gap. For a child, being close to their mother was instinctual. Jacob's desire for his mother's warmth was also innate.

"Jacob, now that your mother is back, it means she has thought it through. She knows that running away won't solve anything," she explained.

Jacob glanced at Esther, then turned his gaze towards Xara in the distance. Silently, he walked towards Xara's bedroom.

The service staff had prepared Xara's bedroom meticulously-everything was the newest, from clothes to toiletries.

Xara's room was a suite consisting of a study, a reception room, a dressing room, a bathroom, and a bedroom.

Jacob wandered around the suite, finally fixing his gaze on a box of biscuits on the small coffee table in the reception room.

He called for the butler, who respectfully responded. "Mr. Jacob, how may I assist you?"

Jacob's young face was cold. "Why is this box of biscuits here?"

The butler finally noticed the biscuits on the coffee table, realizing that Xara couldn't eat them. "Mr. Jacob, it's my oversight. I'll replace the biscuits immediately."

While hastily picking up the biscuits from the table, the butler thought Xara was truly Jacob's mother. He was amazed that the boy still remembered her allergy after so much time. "This is the first and last time. I don't want to see any hazelnut foods in this castle from now

on."

"Yes, Mr. Jacob."

The butler hurriedly left with the biscuits.

Jacob placed the bouquet of flowers he was holding on the chest of drawers in the bedroom.

Seeing Jacob like this, Esther decided not to disturb him any further and went to find her children.

Anna had gone to work, and Felix and Sunshine were not shy around strangers, so they played freely in the castle.

When Esther found them, they were playing in the castle's playground.

It was the same playground where Jacob used to play. Although Jacob had grown up, the playground had been preserved.

The Sandersons' service staff had been arranged for the safety of Felix and Sunshine. The two kids were playing uninhibitedly, running around and sweating. "Felix, Sunshine."

Hearing Esther's call, Felix and Sunshine rushed toward her like fledglings returning to the

nest. "Mommy!"

Seeing the sweaty kids, Esther could not help but frown. "You came out to play right after the rain stopped. Aren't you afraid of catching a cold and getting a rash from the humidity?" Felix and Sunshine obediently said, "Mommy, we're sorry..."

"You can't play so vigorously right after the rain next time, or you might catch a cold easily. Do you understand?"

Lately, Esther had been spending much time with Sunshine. She worried about leaving

Sunshine behind when bringing Felix to her home country. As such, she planned to ask Anna if Sunshine could come along for a while. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"Let's go. I'll give you both a bath."

Even though Felix and Sunshine were still young, Esther decided not to let them bathe together.

She had originally intended to give Felix a bath, but he proudly declared, "Mommy, I can wash myself!"
