Bradley's white hair made him easily noticeable in the crowd. When Esther caught his gaze, his cold eyes hinted at a mysterious darkness within.

"Bradley, where will you both live after marrying Mandy?" Liora asked.

Sitting beside Bradley, Mandy heard her mother's question. "We'll live in Capitus, Mom," she replied.

Esther felt like a lifeless puppet, guided to the round table by Chadwick.

From the moment she arrived, all eyes fixated on her. Their looks were filled with unspoken curiosity, as if everyone sought to understand the kind of person Esther truly was. "Ms. Pascal, I agree with Mandy," Bradley chimed in. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Mandy shot a thankful glance at Bradley and whispered, "Thanks, Brad."

Esther couldn't help but gaze at Bradley's captivating face across the table. She watched him care for Mandy with great attention, even charming her mother into smiles and laughter.

For a brief moment, she wanted to escape. She clenched her fingers tightly to control her emotions, sitting there while suppressing the growing ache in her heart.

"Esther, we decided our wedding would coincide with Mandy's in the makeup room," Chadwick mentioned.

Esther's vision blurred. She lifted her head slightly, determined not to reveal her heartbreak to those around her.

"I'll go along with it," she quietly agreed.

Bradley caught a glimpse of Esther from the corner of his eye. He suddenly felt an inexplicable wave of anger as he noticed her sitting beside Chadwick.

Mandy picked up a shrimp and placed it on Bradley's plate. Leaning in, she whispered, "Brad, try to stay composed in front of my parents."

Bradley locked eyes with her, skillfully removed the shrimp's shell, and returned the favor by placing it on Mandy's plate.

"Thanks, Brad."

"Fish?"

"Sure!"

He then selected a slice of grouper, deboned it, and added it to Mandy's plate.

A solitary tear escaped Esther's eye-she couldn't hold it back any longer. It felt as if an invisible hand was squeezing her heart, making her struggle for breath. Bradley had never done any of this for her, yet he did it for Mandy.

So, this was the difference between love and its absence?

He had never loved her, so everything she did was flawed. But Mandy had donated her liver to him, and because of that, he had fallen for her, willingly peeling shrimp and removing fish bones.

"Esther!" Chadwick's mother, Selene Cassell, condescendingly called her.

Startled, Esther placed her utensils down and nervously said, "Mrs. Pendleton."

Selene coldly advised, "Esther, your past doesn't concern me. But now that you've agreed to marry my son, you'll be my daughter-in-law. You must uphold decency and honesty, and I won't tolerate sentimental tears. Most importantly, your duty is to have children and expand our family lineage as soon as possible."
