'I want you to slowly understand your feelings for Esther. I want to appreciate your belated, deep affection. I want you to be tormented by your own emotions...' Mandy thought.

An ambulance hurried to the scene. Mandy quickly approached it, and she and the maid were taken to a private hospital under the Warner Group. After Bradley was admitted to the hospital, Kevin received a call from the doctor despite having already resigned due to his anger with Bradley.

Kevin had spent the night without sleep and arrived at the hospital with dark circles under his eyes.

"What's the situation?" he asked.

The doctor replied solemnly, "Dr. Slade, Mr. Warner's anger has affected his heart..."

"Is he going to die?" Kevin asked irritably.

The doctor hadn't expected such a response and replied calmly, "His condition won't lead to death for now."

"Treat him as needed. I'm no longer the hospital director, so don't consult me on these minor matters."

Kevin stared at the wedding photo Bradley was holding and sneered. Hadn't Bradley burned them all already? Did he keep one in secret because he couldn't bear to part with it? "Dr. Slade," Mandy called out.

Kevin looked at Mandy distantly and asked, "What is it?"

"Dr. Slade, I saw the dashcam footage from Bradley's car last night. Esther... Is she really dead?"

Mandy looked at Kevin with slightly reddened eyes, unable to accept everything that was happening.

"Ms. Quill was such a kind person. How..."

Kevin looked at Mandy. He didn't have any particular feelings for her, as she was a stranger. But occasionally, he felt a familiar connection in her eyes.

"Yes, she's dead."

"But how? She was such a good person... She clearly..." Mandy exclaimed, unable to comprehend.

"What's the use of her being good?" Kevin raised an eyebrow indifferently. "Even though you knew Esther was imprisoned by Bradley in Warner Manor, you never thought of helping her, did you? When Oliver's men came to rescue Esther, all you had to do was report Bradley. Esther could have survived, but you didn't do it."

Mandy wondered why she would risk Bradley's anger to save Esther. Did she seem like such a kind person?

"I didn't know. I truly didn't know. If I had known, I wouldn't have..." Mandy forced crocodile tears as she looked at Kevin in anguish. "So, every one of us is a murderer who killed her, aren't we?" Kevin went along with Mandy's words, saying in a heavy tone, "Yes, every one of us is a murderer who killed Esther!"

He was! Mandy was! Bradley was, too!

"Do you know when Esther's funeral will be held?"

Kevin looked at Bradley, then said, "There won't be a funeral."

"Why?" Mandy's heart suddenly skipped a beat. Could it be that Esther hadn't died? S~ᴇaʀᴄh the (ꜰind)ɴʘvel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

No, it couldn't be! She had fallen from a high cliff on Coastal Highway 9. How could she not have died?

"The cremation is over, and Esther's ashes have already been scattered into the sea."

"So soon?!" Mandy exclaimed.

Kevin said sarcastically. "Are we supposed to leave the body for Bradley to steal again and put it in the crystal coffin otherwise?"
