Maria bit her lower lip and said nothing. 

She turned away, unwilling to explain further. 

From beginning to end, it was her fault, and no one believed her. No one considered her as a victim as well. 

No matter how much she explained, it would only make others think she was cunning and that she was willing to go to extreme ends to achieve her goals. 

Her silence seemed to dampen Frank’s anger, making him feel powerless. He couldn’t find a satisfying outlet for his anger. 

Frank was frustrated. He glared sinisterly at the woman’s charming face that was within inches of him. Has she given up on explaining? Is she no longer playing innocent and denying everything?‘ he thought. 

Frank reached out with his hand and gripped Maria’s jaw, forcing her to turn her head to face his icy gaze. 

He sneered and scornfully asked, “What? Are you finally admitting to it? No more pretending to be innocent?” 

Maria felt pain, not only from the man’s strong grip but also from her heart. 

When she explained it, he thought she was trying to weasel out of it. 

When she stopped, he thought she was admitting to it. 

No matter what she did, it was all her fault. 

Tears swirled in those clear eyes but stubbornly refused to fall, no matter how much they welled up. 

“That’s right. I’m cunning and deceitful, and it’s all my fault. Is that enough? Can you let me go now?” Maria choked back tears, shouting without paying any heed to anything else. 

Frank frowned deeply, looking at her with complex emotions. 

At that moment, Maria seemed like an injured little cat, extending its claws to retaliate against those who bullied her. 

“Let you go?” he coldly snorted, still wearing a mocking expression. “Maria, you provoked me first. Everything you did was to marry me. Now, you want me to let you go?” 

His rough fingertips pressed against her cherry–like lips, feeling the soft touch. His gaze deepened suddenly. 

Maria could see the change in his eyes. Her breath hitched. She thought about the humiliation from two days ago. Her heart began pounding wildly. 

“You…” She swallowed, feeling nervous.

Frank’s gaze became more profound, and his lips still curled into a cold smile. 

He leaned in abruptly, capturing her cherry lips forcefully. 

Maria froze, her eyes wide. Her mind went blank. She was forced to submit to the man’s rough kiss. 

The pain in her mouth woke her up from her stupor. 

Trying to resist, she pressed her hands against Frank’s chest, intending to reject this punishing kiss. 

However, in Frank’s eyes, her resistance seemed like she was also welcoming it. 

After a moment, Maria fell into a daze from the kiss. Her breathing became rapid, and her hands, initially resisting.

When Frank released her, Maria gasped for breath. Her fair cheeks were flushed. Tears clung to her eyes, making her look pitiful. 

She saw the man’s gaze fixed on her, and her skin felt like it was burning. ‘He wouldn’t want more, would he?‘ she wondered. 

Thinking of the chaotic pain during sex, Maria’s heart was in her mouth. 

But did she have the right to refuse? Maria knew very well that she did not. 

She closed her eyes in despair, anticipating the possibility of being violated by Frank. Her heart sank. She felt utterly 

miserable. 

However, everything was not as she expected. The man retreated. 

She opened her eyes in a daze, seeing the mockery and contempt in the dark eyes. “It seems like you’re looking forward to me taking you,” Frank snorted.
