On the run

I finally gained consciousness and it hadn’t felt like more than a few minutes. The white dude helped me up and had me drink this strange herbal tea that made me feel much better. I stood up wanting to use my powers again but the man pulled my hand down saying ” you need to rest that small use of your powers took its toll on your body a lot more than I thought it would. The only thing you need to do is get rid of that wee black portal thing over there ok.” I called it over and sent it into space.Then after such a long time, he told me his name. it was Sye. He took me over to a small cave where I could rest for the night.

I was expecting a quiet night where I could sleep but I was rudely woken by Flint.

” They’ve found us we need to go.”

I immediately got up and we ran out of the cave. Behind me, were three men sprinting towards us, all armed with AK-47's. Luckily they had the aim of a stormtrooper so we weren’t in grave peril. But it was still terrifying. We ran up through the forest ,when all of a sudden i felt a seering pain in my leg I was hit. I fell to the ground in agony. The others just kept running and I was left to fend for myself. I summoned a black hole and grew it large enough to absorb all of the bullets. I couldn’t hold it forever, when out of nowhere ,a blazing fire raced towards them, chasing them away. I heard one of them fall and the sound of sizzling flesh made me cringe in disgust. In my opinion, it serves them right for trying to kill us to make a quick buck.

I used that same black hole to lift myself off of the ground and had it carry me to the others. I told them to jump on and they did it without question. I think Sye had them in a trance because i noticed that they were just silent with blank faces. Not one having an ounce of fear upon. I kept us going until my energy depleted.

I took us all the way over to a large lake and placed us down by a tree. They were released from their trance and free to take a breath. Ash looked exhausted, i could tell due to the look on her face.

I looked around and saw that we were safe but I had to ask “You all know my powers, but what are yours?”

Sye was the first to reply, “Well I’m psychic.”

Then Ash answeres, “I’m fire.”

And finally, flint says “I’m earth.”

I felt like I could trust them a lot more now because there were no more secrets. Ash tried to get up but collapsed back to the ground. Her eyes instantaneously shut.

Flint looked really worried and said, “What she did for you back, happened to be the first time she had used her power in months. Being one of the Big five means your powers are a lot more draining. Why do you think I haven’t used my powers since you got here. we don’t want you to be like this so please get some rest.”

I agreed and turned over to try and get some sleep.

I was running through the woods. Only slight glimpses of people; old memories. A woman stood Infront of me begging for mercy. A man by her side asking me to put my hands down. I couldn’t. I felt my power flowing to my hands then outburst a vortex that tore them limb from limb. Not a single drop of blood, just a hole in the house.

I was in my school and on the board was an equation. There were some girls talking about me then I went towards them a blackhole followed and swallowed them whole. I stood there and watched as my class was traumatized. The teacher had them huddled in a corner trying to hide them from me. Sye walked over and said “et animo parere” then all went white. Sye came towards me and said ,“Don’t worry. I will release them all to you when you are ready.”

I jumped awake with a throbbing pain in my leg from the bullet. Ash was awake and saw me grasping my leg in pain. She pulled my hands away to see the bullet. Without saying a word, she walked out of sight. I lay there in agony, trying not to wake the others. She ran back over with a lump of beeswax. Before she could continue, I screamed and the boys both woke up. The pain was too great. Ash melted the wax and got flint to take out the bullet then filled the wound with wax. It instantly sealed. No infection could get in but it certainly did not help with the pain. Sye said “et animo parere” then I was stolen from earth to his mind. I was trapped. I no longer felt the pain but I could see what I looked like lying there. I hadn’t noticed but my hair wasn’t brown. It was jet black with a mapped galaxy inside. It looked gorgeous. I watched as they bandaged the wound and then when they were done, I heard a bang. A gunshot. Everyone looked up but it wasn’t near us. It was quite far away. Who was shooting? What were they shooting at? These were the questions spinning around in my mind.

Once again my breath was stolen and I was back in my body. I gasped for air. I instantaneously tried to stand but they all pushed me back down.

Flint said, “You need to stay down your hurt”

I interrupted by saying,“No I need to know where the shot came from.” As I said this I tried to get up but was pushed down. I told them that if I was stuck there,I would like something to eat as the last thing I had was at the orphanage and that was over 3 days ago. Flint and Ash left to find food so I was left alone with Sye.
