But for some reason, he wanted to keep the dialogue going. 

“Yes. It’s a new design.” Samantha smiled, with eyes full of confidence. 

Four years ago, she had fallen into the depths of despair. Due to her hard work, she was now an internationally acclaimed designer. Samantha enjoyed who she was now. She liked it more than the pretentious and meek woman she was once. 

“Ms. Meadows‘ skills do not disappoint. I’ll leave the designs for the SL series in your hands. Thank you for your hard work.” 

The SL series was an important ongoing project in Ford Corporation. Typically, the designs could only be completed by Ford Corporation’s head designer. With Kendrick’s words, he had basically declared Samantha was now the lead designer of Ford Corporation. He had outrightly dismissed the other designers with extensive experience. 

Everyone was shocked by the announcement. Yet, the smile on Samantha’s face never faltered. 

“Alright. I’ll do my best,” Samantha said calmly as she looked at Kendrick. 

Kendrick began to feel irritated at her unyielding emotions. 

He deliberately proclaimed it at the party to drive a reaction out of Samantha. However, Samantha remained cold and indifferent. No matter what he said or did, she remained emotionally unresponsive. 

If someone were to inform him that she was Samantha, he would have trouble. believing it. The way she looked at him was completely different from his. 

recollection. But If he was told otherwise, Kendrick would not completely buy into it either he refused to believe she wasn’t Samantha. 

Regardless of who she truly was, she had successfully captured Kendrick’s attention as Sophia Meadows. 

Kendrick did not say another word as he walked toward the stage. 

As the president of Ford Corporation, he could choose not to attend any welcoming parties. Now that he was here, it was customary for him to give a formal speech.

Samantha walked with him. The polite smile on her face never once wavered. She greeted a few people within her vicinity. Samantha’s thoughts drifted away as she looked at Kendrick under the shining light. 

She had been his wife for three years, yet she never had the opportunity to pay a visit to Ford Corporation. Kendrick had forbade her to do so. With her new identity as Sophia, she had managed to do something Samantha could never achieve. 

It seemed like being an employee was more favorable than being the president’s wife. 

“Ms. Meadows, may I have your first dance?” 

Samantha looked up when she heard someone call to her. She met Kendrick’s 

gaze. 

After Kendrick spoke, he walked to Samantha’s side. 

Samantha looked at him with mixed feelings. Everything she used to wish for had 

now come true. 

It appeared as if Kendrick harbored intense animosity toward Samantha. Or perhaps it was the Duncan family’s daughter that he despised. 

Samantha’s head was filled with ridiculous thoughts. Still, she maintained a courteous smile. 

“It would be my pleasure,” Samantha murmured as she placed her small palm in his. 

When their hands touched, Kendrick felt sparks coursing through his b*dy. He was momentarily dazed as he reflexively held onto her hand. The soft hand in his raised Kendrick’s b*dy temperature. 

Samantha’s expression shifted slightly. She thought that Kendrick’s movements were unnecessary if they were merely dancing. Before she could resist, he placed her hand on her waist. 

The music began to play. Samantha placed a hand on Kendrick’s shoulders in exasperation. She began to dance under his lead. 

“Ms. Meadows, I would have never thought you were such a good dancer too.” Kendrick was pleasantly surprised by Samantha’s graceful motions. His heart fluttered. 

He rarely danced with people, but it was the first time he had encountered a partner that suited him so well. For a moment, Kendrick stared at Samantha with

“Ms. Meadows, it seems like we are fated to be. We even dance so well together,” he remarked. 

Samantha smiled but did not speak. Deep in her heart, she felt like she was being mocked. Samantha thought that they weren’t fated to be despite their well- matched dance moves. In fact, this was due to Samantha’s meticulous planning. 

Kendrick liked to dance. So, Samantha took the time to practice her movements extensively. During their wedding, Kendrick’s face had been chilly as they shared a dance. There had been no chemistry between them. 

Today’s result was all because Samantha had watched their wedding dance repeatedly. She had studied Kendrick’s dance steps and practiced hard to achieve such a desired outcome. ” 

Ages ago, she did so with Kendrick in her mind. She thought she could make him happy if she danced well. She never imagined that she would not have such an opportunity up until their divorce. 

Fortunately, her hard work was not in vain. It came in handy for the party. 

“Mr. Ford, I do not believe in fate. I only believe that chances are given to those who are prepared,” Samantha said when the song ended. 1 

She turned to leave Kendrick’s embrace, leaving him stunned in her wake.
