The music ended as another song began to play. Many people had noticed Kendrick and Samantha talking, but no one dared to interrupt them. 

The smile on Samantha’s face widened. He had asked how many women were deserving of his compliments. She didn’t know how many women deserved it. Yet, she knew the previous version of herself was nothing but trash in Kendrick’s 

eyes. 

There was a fire burning in her heart. Samantha took another glass of wine and drank it in one go. 

The soothing taste of alcohol was slightly bitter in her throat. Tears began to brim her eyes as she raised her head, in an attempt to stop her tears from flowing. 

Kendrick’s gaze never left Samantha. As she seized the glass, he took in her hands and her slender n*eck. He watched as the alcohol flowed into her mouth. Observing was also a form of enjoyment. 

His eyes fell to the glass in his hand. It was the glass Samantha had been using previously. 

Something stirred in her heart. Kendrick lifted the glass to his l*ps and began to take a sip. Samantha was slightly stunned as she watched Kendrick’s actions in disbelief. 

They had been married for three years. Kendrick might not have known her preferences, but she had made an effort to understand him. 

Kendrick had a serious case of germaphobia. He had often slept with multiple women, but he would never have them stay overnight. 

Yet, she had watched as Kendrick drank from her cup. 

“What’s wrong?” 

Confronted by Samantha’s shocked gaze, Kendrick was slightly confused. Samantha lowered her stare and tightened her grip on her glass. She took a step back and leaned on the table. She felt the room spinning. 

“I heard that you were a germaphobe. I was just surprised,” she said truthfully. 

A hint of amusement played on her l*ps. She thought back to when they had wed. They had only k*ssed each other on the cheek because of his fear. At that time, she was completely oblivious to his disgust toward her. She thought that perhaps she chose to be ignorant instead.

“Maybe my germaphobia varies depending on the person,” Kendrick said with a smirk. 

For some reason, Samantha’s face materialized in his mind. 

For four years, he had never met another woman who could arouse him like she did. Even when he slept with other women, he would think back to the night they shared together. 

Kendrick’s gaze sharpened slightly. He looked at the dazed Sophia. He questioned if she was indeed Samantha. 

“Even your phobia changes from person to person?” Samantha raised her eyebrow at Kendrick. 

Her eyelids grew heavy, and her head was numb. She lowered her eyes once more. 

Kendrick watched her as his eyes darkened. He could feel his b*dy heat up uncontrollably. She looked captivating, just as Samantha did four years ago at 

the bar. 

“Mr. Ford, do you take me as Sophia or Samantha?” 

Kendrick had spoken to her more than he did throughout their entire marriage. She doubted his sincerity would continue if he found out she was Samantha. 

Kendrick pursed his l*ps. He did not know how to answer her. 

Truth be told, he wasn’t even contemplating if she was Sophia or Samantha. He was simply attracted to her now. That was why he couldn’t resist approaching her for a conversation. 

But after being questioned, Kendrick began to reflect on his actions. Had he known that Sophia was Samantha back then, he would not have given her any attention. Nor would he have spent all that effort to convince her to join his 

company. 

“You are Samantha Duncan!” Kendrick firmly stated.
