Kendrick didn’t know what it meant to endure.
He looked at how adorable the woman in his arms was. He had no intention of letting go. But Samantha, who was half–drunk, finally realized that amiss when she was led to a room deep in the hotel. She began struggling continuously.
“Don’t ruin my mood.”
Kendrick had already embraced her fully in the corridor. He pushed her against the wall. He k*ssed her lightly, then deepened the k*ss.
She could hear Kendrick’s slightly hoarse voice, and she could feel the heat between her legs.
Samantha paled as the memories of that night seemed to emerge again.
But unlike how rough he had been the last time, this time Kendrick was even more enticing. He would k*ss the ends of her hair and her chin. He then began moving downward inch by inch.

Samantha’s legs were still trembling as she finally exhaled. She leaned against the wall as she took huge gulps of air. The tips of her ears were still faintly red. As Kendrick and Linda looked at each other, Samantha pulled out her phone. She paused for a few seconds on Francis‘ name but then chose Alexis‘ number instead.
She made the call before Kendrick could say anything.
“Alexis, can you come and get me?”
Samantha’s voice was trembling slightly too.
She retreated a
few steps, widening the distance between her and Kendrick.
“Tell me the address. I’ll be there right away.”
Alexis knew something was wrong the moment she heard Samantha’s voice. There was urgency in her tone.
That was what good friends were for. They would still rush over immediately, even
if no reason was given.
Samantha looked at Kendrick’s increasingly sinister expression. She was aware that
she had really spoiled his mood today..
Still, she couldn’t bring herself to allow Kendrick to have his way without any

“Mr. Ford, I’m leaving now. I’ll be taking a few days‘ leave.”
Samantha calmed herself, then turned and left in another direction.

Kendrick looked even more displeased. He left Linda standing there alone, and then
left the ball.
Samantha left the hotel and stood by the roadside. The cold wind in the night finally
helped to cool her down a little.
She considered it for a moment, and then put on the coat that she’d brought. She sat
on the pavement, rubbing her temple.
Today’s goal had only been to facilitate the collaboration between Conrad and Linda. She hadn’t expected to almost become part of the bargain.
She had no idea if she would still be able to get Kendrick to fall in love with her as
she’d ruined his mood..
Samantha felt frustrated just thinking about it. Very quickly, Kendrick’s car shot. past her. She could only catch Kendrick’s icy expression in the passenger’s seat.
Samantha watched the car go, and she began massaging her temple even more
forcefully.
“Do you need me to give you a ride home?”
Conrad’s car stopped..
“It’s okay.”
Samantha shook her head.
Conrad did not waste another word. He drove off without hesitation.

Samantha only fully regained her senses when Alexis‘ car stopped before her after she had sped over. Alexis shot out of the car and dragged her up from the ground.
“Alexis, you came so quickly.”
“Come home with me. Nathan’s driving me mad.”
Alexis half–dragged Samantha and tossed her in the car.
Alexis had never gotten into any accidents while driving. Still, every time she got in Alexis‘ car, Samantha felt like she was on a train to hell.
She felt her stomach heaving after she alighted the car.
Samantha leaned against the wall for a long time before she could stand up and follow Alexis upstairs.
When she arrived at the house that she had bought previously, she opened the door. Nathan rushed over in his pajamas.
“Mom!”
Nathan hugged Samantha, looking aggrieved.
He hadn’t had time to cry about what that rough tomboy Alexis had done to him, when he smelled something pungent.
