Summary
Kaliyah is one to not heed authority. In fact, she’s someone to do the complete opposite if ordered. To say she was spoilt would be an understatement. Captain Baron wants to change that. He’s been patient with the spellcaster long enough on his ship, after her father’s death drove her to Baron, he’s accepted her defiance. Accepted her grief and even the fire she’s thrown about the boat.
A bet changes all that. A bet that uncovers Kaliyah’s secrets and pushes them together more than they could ever want. A bet that reveals the torment and struggles of her family.
