(Victor’s POV)

I was shocked to here about an intruder in the hall. No not for an intruder to be in, afterall what can we expect from humans? I was shocked because none of our well trained warriors were able to catch him. The king ordered for him to be caught and be presented in front of him immediately. Our warriors ran out with the the help of the scent of the person which was present some distance away from this place.

I was mostly shocked when Daniel had ordered for the intruder to be caught and brought alive instead of killing him on the spot. This was something that had never happened in the history of our lives. Noone was spared for the mistake of intrusion.

Soon we were midlinked by one of the warriors about the intruder being caught. And very soon the said person was brought inside, more like dragged inside the hall. He was made to stand in the center of the hall so his suffering could be seen by everyone.

After scanning the person from head to toe, I was shocked to discover that it wasn’t a he but rather a she.

Daniel rose from his throne which lead everyone to bow for him. Even the girl bowed as a respect for their king. Reaching near her, he ordered everyone to rise, more like specifically to her but everyone took it as an order to themselves including me. He orders her to look up as it is a rule that no human is allowed to look in the wolves eyes. As the girl looks up, a few awkward minutes for us, are spent by them looking in each other’s eyes forgetting the whole court watching their every moment. It all happened in a moment of blur. Noone was able to understand what actually happened. It was a great shock for everyone to see, that the girl had taken the shot, which was actually intended for Daniel. And we were even more shocked to see that, as the girl was about to collapse to the ground due to the bullet, Daniel caught her in his arms with a very fast reflex. It was shocking to see Daniel showing emotions in some way, when it had been years since he had showed any.

I was midlinked by the guards, whom I had sent, telling me about the shooter killing himself out of fear of being caught. Three unknown boys and a girl who I noticed were doing some antics around, were trying to reach but were restricted by the guards due to the king’s orders.

For everyone’s shock, Daniel lifts the girl, who was unconscious now due to heavy blood lose, in bridal style and very calmly ordered the meds to be sent to his room. After reaching his room I noticed the meds were already set to check-up on her. Soon we were met with the results obtained by the meds. They told us that the chances of the girl being saved were very few as she was shot by a bullet containing the virus, which could kill werewolves and she was a mere human.

Leaving the room, Daniel entered the personal room, where meds for the werewolves were allowed to stay. What? We didn’t believed those humans. He found Isabelle, the head doctor, who had discovered a temporary solution for the virus. He hands her a tube containing a liquid and orders her to work on it.

To outsiders he definitely looked like a calm person trying to handle everything, just like he does in every situation. But I knew it better. An advantage of being together since birth. His eyes when noticed furtherly told a very different tale. He was panicking. In the 24 years of his life, this was the very first time I was seeing so many emotions flicking in his eyes. Just for a mere human girl. And then it clicked in. How didn’t I fucking noticed it.
