(Day 9)

The day for the first level of the competition was here. The first level being cooking. Everyone was busy as new supplies of cooking material were bought in. I even saw some ingredients which I didn’t even knew existed. By nighttime the palace was ready to face a cooking war.

Everyone had taken their position. Every debutante was given a specific kitchen stall to prepare their recipe. The royals had soon arrived and were on their seats. The checking was done in order to make sure that there was no cheating being carried out. Soon the timer had started. Somehow I wasn’t in a state of panic while preparing my dish as I had actually practiced it several times.

Soon the timer was blaring across the hall. Everyone was told to move back from their stalls. The King had descended his throne and was walking towards every stall to taste the dishes. When he reached mine, a look of surprise flashed in his eyes for a millisecond. Nobody would have seen it, not even I, if I wouldn’t have been openly gawking at him. He tasted the food. An emotion which I was able to detect crossed his eyes. He just took a glance towards me and went back to his seat on the throne.

No you can’t do this. Just one bite. No you idiot you are in the presence of the royals. Fuck Them. I scanned my surroundings to see if anybody was watching me and to my grace nobody was.

With the great love of a mother I tasted the dish. Love of a mother? Yes. Because this was the first time I had created something and the whole dish was made with y own hands. But the one thing I didn’t expected was this. Awful would be an understatement. The dish tasted disgusting. I looked around for the ingredients but everything was perfect including the measurements.

So how in the hell did this thing tasted so disgusting. Tears of anger and frustration were brimming in my eyes. How could I be so careless to actually destroy his favourite dish. My eyes met Rosaline’s who was looking in my direction and smirking, as if she was getting the very reaction she actually wanted. Just after seeing her face I understood that it definitely wasn’t me.

(Victor’s POV)

Daniel was about to give his decision. Everyone looked eager to here about the winner. I, from the angle I was sitting on, somehow was able to see his lips start the word with the letter ‘J’. It was enough for me to start a victory dance inside. Control Victor. You are a Beta King. Behave. Maturity.

But before he could bring the name fully out of his mouth, a long band was heard from the spot where the stalls were situated. A utensil was seen flying across the hall. Everyone’s eyes turned towards the direction from where the utensil came. To everyone’s surprise, a very fuming Jennifer who looked ready to murder, was looking towards Rosaline who did a shit load of acting of fearing, which wasn’t even visible on her face.

“Are all witches afraid and weak enough that they need to use their magic just to make a mere human loose?” The sentence was enough to bring Rosaline’s desperate acting on the ground. “I would love to show you my strength and prove how afraid I am.” But before she could go all I-am-the-hulk mode on Jennifer a very thunderous growl was heard throughout the hall. Everyone’s eyes now turned towards the direction from where the growl came.

It was now Daniel who looked ready to kill someone. Before Rosaline could start with her desperate acting again, “Miss Winnefred such action would not be appreciated. It will not be left unnoticed. For the trial of cheating you are been disqualified from the feuding.”

Rosaline looked like in the construction of a huge waterwork which was going to start soon. Even Jennifer looked shocked by Daniels decision. Catherine was announced as the winner of the first round. Before the Luna could even utter a word out of her mouth regarding the case of Rosaline, Daniel had already departed the court.

Well that went well, didn’t it? Atleast everyone was alive.
