The geniuses in Mictlan figured out that a lead Faraday Cage not only saves on the amount of lead needed to shield higher functioning animals and humans from the effects of the Zed Sleep Field.
And with this in mind houses constructed after the Zed Apocalypse, the reestablishment of the Original Constitution of the United States of America along with the Bill of Rights and the Amendments now establishing citizenship Rights for Zombianity and the creation of the Autonomous Zombie Protected Zone. All states and federal laws apply inside the Z but the Sleep Field Border was created as part of national security and to allow some respite to Zombies who like living outdoors.
So, when sporting stadiums were either newly built or renovated for almost any reason especially earthquake retrofitting, lead rebar was built into the structure to create a stadium-sized Faraday cage but without the top. The roof of such a thing was made of a retractable mesh awning that would only be used in the event the Sleep Border was broken. It had been assumed that the only reason anyone would try to disable any portion of the Zed Sleep disorder was to an act of hostility against the whole United States of America…as much of the advanced weapons technology to protect the reestablished USA was within the Z.
Any human family without a newly constructed Faraday/Estrada Sleep Shielded home or panic room was urged to go to the nearest indoor college gym or auditorium but five major sporting stadiums were equipped for this event.
Los Angeles, Oakland, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver were the cities with sports stadiums able to hold humans in the case the Sleep Border was breached and Zed and Mictlan forces were deployed to defend the Z and the greater United States of America from this threat.
Many homes had the lead Faraday/Estrada cages built into the master bedroom and with the door closed and special glass with lead fibers woven into the windowpane. The drywall, the ceiling, the wooden doors, and flooring…had lead fiber woven through to protect them from the day the Zed and Mictlan forces had to bring out privately owned Gravity Generators used in Zed shielded homes to induce sleep so the Zed mind didn’t go crazy from sleep deprivation…and to help them feel connected to humanity.
The Chupacabra Apocalypse was very much like the Barbarians knocking at Rome’s door. And as if the Romans burned Rome down, not before hiding the priceless treasures away in the vaults in the catacombs.
But what about the Osborn family who had consumed the Zed Death Berries?
Mictlan let Dolores, Squirrel Girl, the Chupacabra, and the other descendants of Amberson Osborn who felt that this was the best way to solve their issue with the RCA/NBC trustees and their descendants.
And after all this foreshadowing about Morgan and Noah Lafayette…they release their brand of influence over the situation. Using Zombianity’s version of the Zed Akashic record…like their hive mind, used this network to reeducate the Osborn family. Morgan and Noah held hands in a circle with four or five zombies and they began their Christopher Nolan-esque dive into the mind of the Osborn family bent on some strange extermination plot. The Lafayette’s could change the minds of the offspring of Amberson Osborn but the physical effects of the change to their DNA caused by the chemistry accident would remain. And the choice was made that Aztec Ghosts could either eat these members of the Osborn family or they could change how they react to the impulses in their minds when these RCA/NBC Trustees and their descendants are near or think about them…a sort of a Ludovico treatment for vampires…
Milk does a body good…
The best Noah and Morgan Lafayette could accomplish were that these vampires would no longer target these television-first-broadcast-trustees or their descendants and think twice about drinking human blood in favor of milk that could be purchased at a grocery store when they transform and try to do a good deed once and a while…
The Kamazotz and Squirrel Girl went back to Mapimi Chupacabra sanctuary kicking and screaming with Aileen Green’s objections of…
