“Liz, you’re really…” 

Chapter 97 

Henry laughed. The aggrieving expression on his face disappeared, and he said with a faint smile, “Why are you always so straight with your words? You make people feel embarrassed. That’s rude.” 

“I didn’t embarrass anyone. You embarrass yourself with what 

Elizabeth could not be bothered to argue with him anymore..

She stood in front of Dr. Zayn and asked. “Wasn’t Grandpa’s condition already stable?” 

Dr. Zayn had no intention of hiding anything. “Maybe Mr. Henry had said something that crossed the line. I’ve already reminded you before that with Mr. Hayes’s current physical condition, he couldn’t take drastic emotional changes. Please obey him. Otherwise, next time…” 

Dr. Zayn did not finish his sentence. 

He glanced at Henry and smiled mockingly before leaving the ward to deal with other matters. 

Elizabeth didn’t want to talk to Henry. 

She was going to look for Peter to discuss how to take care of Mr. Hayes. 

Elizabeth had just walked to the door of the ward when Henry suddenly reached out and grabbed her arm. “You’re blaming. me too, right?” 

“Do you think I should thank you for this?” 

Elizabeth harrumphed. She was not in a hurry to break free from his hand. Instead, she looked straight into his eyes and asked, “Did you do it on purpose?” 

“No.” Although Henry said that, his grip on Elizabeth’s arm had already loosened. 

Elizabeth glanced at his arm and nodded. “Then so it is.” 

There was no need to argue about such matters. When Grandpa woke up, the truth would be revealed. Moreover, the more they argued, the more she interacted with him. She felt sick. 

Not long after Elizabeth left the ward, she saw Peter coming over with a pile of documents. 

“Peter.” Elizabeth stopped him. “Is it convenient to transfer Grandpa to a private hospital now?”

Elizabeth pondered for a moment and said with a frown, “Then we’ll have to get a few more bodyguards. Although it’s a VIP ward, it’s not good to have people coming and going on this floor.” 

Peter looked at Elizabeth in admiration. “I’ve already spoken to the Public Relations Department. Even if the news gets out, there’s a way to deal with it. 

“Mrs. Hayes, you must be tired after working all day. Why don’t you go back and rest? I’ll be in the room with Mr. Hayes tonight.”

Elizabeth secretly tugged at Peter’s clothes. “Dr. Zayn will stay here tonight, so you don’t have to worry.

The next day, Elizabeth had just walked into the ward when Henry walked to her again. 

His clothes were wrinkled and there were dark shadows under his eyes. He looked much more haggard. The only thing that did not change was his affectionate expression. “You’re here.” 

The bodyguards were outside, and the nurse and Dr. Zayn went to get their things. 

Now that it was just the two of them, Elizabeth could not ignore him. She could only say, “You can go back and rest.” 

“No need.” Henry smiled bitterly and shook his head. He turned to look at Mr. Hayes, who was still lying on the bed. “Since it’s my fault, I should stay here with Grandpa until he wakes up.” 

“Oh, good luck.” Elizabeth really didn’t want to be sarcastic. 

However, she also did not understand why Henry could always put himself in a bitter role.

“No, you’re more mature and sensible than you used to be. You’ve grown up. You’re no longer the little girl who would run all over the campus for me. 

“Liz, I so regret not keeping you by my side back then. Now, I’ve completely lost my chance.” 

Elizabeth was a little disgusted by him and frowned. How could he not know what had happened back then? Why was he pretending to be so affectionate? 

Clap, clap, clap. The sound of clapping suddenly came from behind. A chill ran down Elizabeth’s spine. She felt cold as hell.
