Chapter 53
A deep, oppressive voice was heard before a hand grabbed Naomi’s hand firmly.
Naomi froze. Her hand was wrapped in gauze, not thin, but she could still clearly feel the warmth emanating from his hand. Her heart skipped slightly at the sensation. Subconsciously, Naomi withdrew her hand. “I’m fine.”
At this moment, the driver opened the car door. Naomi lowered her head and got out of the car.
Amelia did not know that Naomi was in the Mercedes–Benz. She recognized Charles‘ car immediately, having asked his license plate number and brand earlier on. Thus, when she saw Charles
car, she went straight over.
“Amelia.”
Amelia paused and turned at the familiar voice. “Naomi?”
Seeing the woman standing a few steps behind her, Amelia immediately hung up the phone and hurried over. “Quick, let me see!”
Amelia came to Naomi and took Naomi’s hand to look at it. Soon, she frowned and said, “My goodness, it’s so serious. Will it leave a scar?”
This was the aspect Amelia cared about the most. How could a girl not care about such things? Naomi
was so young, too.
Naomi felt glad. For once, Amelia was not buried in her pile of work. She could finally take a bit of a
break.
“I’m fine.” The doctor, had said it might not leave a scar, but the final result could not be guaranteed. It was impossible for her not to care about it, but since things had come to this, thinking too much was useless,
“Fine‘? Your hand is so beautiful. It wouldn’t be good if it had a scar. No, I must find a way to restore your hand to its original state. It cannot leave a scar!” Amelia’s voice was firm as if making a vow.
Naomi smiled. “Alright. When did you arrive?”
“I’ve been here for a while. I even went out of my way to eat De’lane Bakery’s pancakes. I was so hungry, I had two!”
“That’s good.” Naomi’s smile blossomed.
At this moment, everyone had gotten out of the car, including Scott. However, except for Naomi and Amelia, everyone else’s gaze fell on Scott.
Donna and Dean were both shocked. They had not expected Scott to be in the same car as Naomi. They were in the car for the whole drive, too.
Charles stood in the background, watching the person outside the Mercedes. Impeccably dressed in a

suit, with an indifferent expression, the man looked as if he just concluded a major meeting. He exuded a powerful aura that could unnerve a person.
As if sensing his gaze, the man looked over, and their eyes met. In an instant, Charles‘ heart tightened. He did not know this person, let alone being familiar with him.
They were practically strangers. In a moment like this, where they locked eyes, it seemed to be the first time. At this moment, however, his confidence wavered with just one glance.
This man was truly outstanding, he admitted to himself.

Amelia was focused on Naomi, talking to her and completely oblivious to the person standing in front. On the other hand, Naomi noticed the shocked elderly couple ahead. Her gaze subtly shifted, saying, “We’ll talk later.”
Naomi walked over. The elderly couple, upon seeing Naomi, quickly overcame their initial shock, replaced by heartache. Their daughter had suffered too much!
Donna could not control her emotions, immediately coming over. “My child…”
She pulled Naomi close, looking her up and down, her eyes instantly turning red. Naomi knew the elderly couple had seen Scott. She wanted to say something, but the timing was not right, and words failed her. She said gently, “Mom, I’m fine.”
“What do you mean, ‘fine‘? You…” Seeing Naomi’s gentle expression, Donna was on the verge of
tears.
Dean approached. With suppressed emotions, he gently patted Donna’s shoulder. “Let’s go inside.”
Donna nodded. “Okay.”
“Let’s go, let’s go!”
Donna pulled Naomi toward the hospital, keeping a distance from Scott.
At this moment, an irritated voice rang out.
