“Kendra, honey, time to wake up,” I said, shaking her slightly. “You need to eat and, as much as you don’t want to, we need to go get you some clothes.”

“I’m scared,” Kendra said.

“How come? Please, tell me what’s going on and why you’re so scared to go home.”

“I think someone is trying to kill me.”

“What? Why?”

“I don’t know. That’s the really scary thing. I think my house is bugged or something and my work had to have bugged. Why else would someone have set it on fire?”

“Someone set it on fire? Are you sure?”
