“So, she’s here?” Helen asked.

“Yeah,” I said, smiling a little. “She doesn’t want to go home and she doesn’t want to leave my side.”

“How come?”

I shrugged. “I’ve never bonded so quickly with someone. Not even you. It’s a little weird.”

“Hailey?” Kendra called.
