Rourke Diary. Entry #384

Met this kid and his two friends in Eugene. He was looking for a generator to boot up the radio station. He sent out a message that basically said our new President is the asshole who started the war. I believe him. His proof is substantial, but I would’ve believed him anyway even without proof. He’s got something special that kid. Things move around him.

I’ll keep a close watch on him. He’s going to need help at some point, that’s for sure. He’s asking for trouble and it’s going to rain down hard on him. In fact, I expect a serious response soon from Mooney that will pretty much prove that the kid is correct.

His name is Robert Morgan. He travels with two companions who never leave his side. Two pros and no one to trifle with, certainly, yet they seem devoted to the kid. I saw no particular talent or initiative. No superpower or rash determinism. No leadership skills in the usual sense. But he seems to have an innate sense of direction, of wanting to do what’s right. Started prepping for our move. People are excited to begin their new lives. Everyone is coming along. I said they could go wherever they wanted. This isn’t a monarchy. But they’re all coming so we’ll have us a nice little town. Now if we could only choose where to go… I’ve had a chat with the people in Idaho Falls. There’s a small group there and they’d like us to join them. Why not. No reason why the place should be empty to begin with. They’ll have the groundwork done. They have plenty of room and they need us, so.. I’m heading east tomorrow with two men to investigate.
