CHAPTER TWO 

I walked into the hall, trying to be strong, but with each step I took, my heart broke further. I couldn’t believe Damien and the Bluemoon Pack as a whole could do this, 

1. me. 

They were all smiling, eating and drinking, too happy enough to care that they had just destroyed someone. 

After everything my parents and I had done to Damien, the least I expected was to be rejected, and in the worst way ever. I knew Damien didn’t like me as much as I liked him, but he had gone too far than necessary this time. 

FLASHBACK ** 

There was a rogue attack in the Bluemoon Pack and everyone was running for their lives. Bodies were scattered on the floor, children were crying, parents were screaming their children’s name, warriors were fighting with every bit of power in them, but the rogues came prepared for the attack.. 

My parents kept me hidden in a safe house and told me they had to save the others. So, I sat down there, waiting for them to show up until Damien passed in front of me, crying and screaming for his parents. 

With the urge to save my crush and future Alpha, I got out of the safe house and ran after him, shouting his name. He motioned for me to come closer, which I did with no hesitation and we began to walk together, trying to avoid rogues and the dead bodies on the floor. 

“Where are your parents?” He asked me. 

“I do not know. They left me in the safe house and said they had to go save the others. We should head back to the safe house, it is better there than outsider here and it is also very warm,” I assured and we both stopped 

walking. 

“I have to look for my parents, I don’t know where they are,” he said. 

“They will come to meet us when everything is over. My parents can take us out and we’ll go meet your parents, 

I insisted, wanting to spend time alone with him.

Agreeing to go wait for my parents in the safe house, we turned back and began to little things and trying not to mind the bodies on the floor.

Suddenly, I felt a shadow behind Damien and as he raised his hands to strike, I screamed and pushed Damien out of the way, shifting to my small wolf immediately. 

I received the strike for Damien and shifted back to my human form as I fell on the floor. I heard my parent’s screams as my eyes felt heavy and my vision blurred, but I was still able to see them. 

They got to my side and bent down, my mum was crying and pleading with me to stay strong. I held her hands. tightly and looked at Damien, who was sitting on the ground, shaken with fear. 

Mom, Dad, please save Damien,” was the last thing I said before slipping into unconsciousness. 

When I woke up next. I realized that I was in the hospital and saw my Mum sitting on a chair, her head on my bed 

as soft snores escaped from her lips. 

1 remembered all that happened that night, me saving Damien and everything, but what I didn’t know was why I was so weak that I could barely even raise my legs. 

Mum, “I groaned in pain, nudging her slightly and she stirred in her sleep before waking up. 

Jane,” she called out, standing up abruptly from the chair she was sitting on and caressing my cheeks as her. eyes watered. 

Why do I feel weak, Mum? I feel pains all over my body and I don’t feel my wolf’s energy anymore,” I asked her, confused at what was happening. 

“You lost your wolf while trying to save Damien, Darling. The doctor said there was zero possibility of getting her back,” she explained and I placed my hands over my mouth in shock, trying not to shed tears. 

I sniffed and wiped off the tears that were threatening to fall. I raised my head to look at my Mum and smiled softly at her. 

“What about Damien? Is he okay?” I asked again and she nodded her head slowly in affirmation. 

“Damien is alright, Jane, but he lost his memory due to shock,” she announced.

Chapter 2 

That was the last time I saw my wolf or even felt her presence. The doctor said there were two possibilities, either my wolf was dead, or she was suffering from trauma and had hidden herself. 

I couldn’t take this anymore. Damien could not betray me after everything my family and I have done and sacrificed for him. Besides, I was his mate, the only one meant for him. 

“What is going on here?” I screamed and the hall became silent as everyone turned to look at me. Some were giving me disdained looks while others were looking at me with pity. 

But the fact was that I didn’t need their looks of disdain and pity. What I wanted was an explanation from Damien as to why he would do this to me. 

Damien walked towards me, his face showing no emotion while I was almost dying inside me. He stopped in front of me and observed me as his supposed Luna stood behind him, bearing his mark on her neck. 

She was beautiful, no doubt, but it shouldn’t have resulted to that. I raised my shoulders and pushed out my chest, trying to appear brave even though I knew my hands were failing me. 

“I asked, what is going on here?” I repeated, but he ignored me, like he always does. “You’re not getting away from this, Damien, so you better speak up and stop pretending to be dumb. Why is there a Luna ceremony without me when I am your mate?” I yelled and he stared at me for a while, before stifling a laugh. 

My mate?” He asked. As much as I hated it right now, his voice sent shivers down my spine, the mate bond trying to manipulate me into falling for him even in this situation. 

Yeah, you’re my mate, but that doesn’t mean you should be the Luna of this Pack and person I’ll have to spend the rest of my life with,” he spat out and I scoffed in disbelief. He was actually rejecting me, and in front of the pack members and his damn new love. 

“And is she? She isn’t even a member of this Pack. How well do you trust her? How well will she be of benefit to you?“.

So many ways, Jane. She is the sister of an Alpha, she has a wolf and definitely isn’t an Omega,” he retorted, hitting me in the worst place ever. 

“Is it my fault for being wolfless? Am I the Moon Goddess who paired you with a defected Omega? We’re mates, Damien and you can’t be rejecting me right now just because I have no connections or strength, “I stated, partially pleading with him.

“Well, I can do that. Do you know why? Because I don’t want someone defected, even if the Moon Goddess paired her with me. Is it also my fault that you are without a wolf? You’re nothing but a curse to the pack who was responsible for the death of my father,” he spat out and my hands almost connected with his cheeks when I felt a jab to my face. I fell flat on my face. 

I looked up and saw Lian’s wolf growling angrily at me. 

“How dare you try to hit him?” She snapped, shooting her eyes angrily at me. I felt weak as I saw Damien pursing his lips with a wicked smile. 

“That’s how to know a true Luna, she stands up for her king!” He said amidst smirks. 

Stay out of this, whoever you are. You can’t come in to Pack and try to take over my position, you motherfucking nincompoop, “I cussed at her in between tears. 

“A curse, you say? How dare talk to me like that? After everything I have done for you? 

“I’m tired, Jane. I’m fucking tired of hearing that word. What did you do for me? Your parents saved me and not you, and my mother and I have greatly rewarded them for that. What else do I owe you? Nothing, Jane, I owe you nothing, so don’t start talking like you saved my life,” he retorted, his eyes widely opened in anger. 

“Shut the hell up, Damien, ” I yelled as tears fell down from my eyes. ” Shut the hell up. I did everything for you, I did your dirty shits for you, I helped you grow this Pack, I gave you my time, my heart and body and what nonsense is coming out of your mouth? I did nothing for you? Is that the best excuse you can give right now?” 

No one asked you to do those things for me, Jane, you decided to do them on your own. What else do you want me to say? You want me to apologize? Then, sorry. Does it change anything? I’m still going to make Lian the Luna of this pack. I’ve marked her already, so you can have the apology,” he said with no hint of remorse. 

“We were together last night, we have been together for a year. We live together, Damien. Why didn’t you reject me then? Why did you wait till today before you did that? Why are you doing this to me in front of all the members of the Pack?” Lasked, my voice more calm as I was already exhausted from crying. 

Because, this is the kind of rejection someone like you deserves. A public humiliation that will make it hard for you to live in this Pack, that will make it hard for you to live at all,” he taunted, a sly smirk playing on his lips. 

“What did I ever do to you? I’ve been nothing but loyal and faithful to you. I have patiently waited for you to live and accept me as your mate, but you bring this to the table? You have just offended me, Damien and it will be

He burst into fits of laughter, clapping his hands as he did. He looked around as he laughed, asking them if they could believe what I had just said. 

“Why would I need your forgiveness? It could be considered treason if someone else heard you,” he explained, his eyes filled with contempt as he eyed me. 

I, Alpha Prince Damien of the Bluemoon Pack, officially reject you, Jane Smith, as my mate and also banish you from this Pack,” he stated, his eyes darkened as I felt the mate bond and pack bond break.
