“WHAT?!”
My mouth hangs open at his words and the thumping of my heart increases, almost ripping my heart apart.
“How the fuck is that possible, Tessa?!” Adrian continues to fire his heated question at me. “We both know I can never get a woman pregnant!”
Saying the words so heatedly makes my heart crush into debris. Yes, it’s truc, Adrian is impotent. It’s his biggest flaw and the reason he felt no woman will ever truly love him. Until I came around, and accepted him with all my heart, regardless of his condition.
It never mattered to me. Staying by his side and feeding him all the love in the world has been my utmost desire. That’s why I feel so flustered and shocked right now. How can I be pregnant?
“That’s a lie, Adrian. I can’t be pregnant. That’s not possible, right?” My lips quiver as the words come out. Tears are beginning to gather in my eyes as the moment grows more intense.
“Yeah, my point exactly. It shouldn’t be possible but you just made it fucking possible. Do you wanna tell me how you did it?”
“Adrian…” I try to touch him but he backs away again.
“Don’t, Tessa. Stay the fuck where you are,” He says in a pissed tone. “I’m trying to wrap my head around this shit but I feel. like I’m about to go insane. So help me understand, please. Tell me how you did it. What the fuck did you do. Tessa?!”
“I don’t understand any of this either, Adrian. I’ve never cheated on you, and I’ve never done anything else to get pregnant. You’re the only man I’ve been with Adrian. Please, believe me,” My tears roll in a mad rush, but it doesn’t even affect him.
His eyes are cold and distant like he’s staring at his nastiest enemy. His eyes that once held sheer love for me are now staring at me with anger and disgust. How the hell do things change so fast?
“You don’t understand what’s at stake right now, do you?” He asks, burning me up with his eyes. “Maybe I should spell it all out for you. Or better still, maybe Will should do it. He’s gonna make you understand this fucked–up situation, then maybe you’ll think twice before opening your mouth and lying to my face again,” He says the last words through clenched teeth.
Will clears his throat and starts talking. “If you’re pregnant, Luna Tessa, then it means you have been cheating on Alpha Adrian. You’ve been seeing another man!”
“No!!” I cry out desperately, but no one even listens to me. Will continues his monologue, refusing to acknowledge my innocence.
“If that is proven, then you will be rejected as the Luna of the Pack and you will be disgraced before the people.” Will ends. his monologue.
“No! Please, Adrian,” I grab his arms, clinging to him and sobbing my heart out. “Listen to me, please. I didn’t do it. I could never cheat on you,”
“I wanna believe you, but you’re pregnant, Tessa. That changes a lot of things. How could you do this to me?” He replies. taking my hands off him.
He leaves the room and slams the door shut, while I drop to the floor, crying my heart out.
Two weeks passed and I never got to see Adrian again. He never came into our bedroom and I never got to leave the room either. He had instructed the Pack sentinels to keep me locked inside.
The door only opens thrice a day, when the Omegas bring me food. I sent multiple messages through them to Adrian. I need to see him, we need to talk deeply, he has to understand that I love him and I can never betray him like this. But he never came, the Omegas always get punished for relaying my messages to him, so I stopped sending any.
All I can do is write endless letters, professing my deep love for him and how I need a chance to explain things to him. But

How do I explain that a child is growing in my womb and I don’t know how it got in there? How do I prove that he’s the only man that has ever fucked me? How?
Loud cries resound in my ears and I stay silent for a few seconds, trying to figure out where the cries are coming from.
Outside?
I hurry out to the balcony and peer down from it. Over a dozen of the Packhouse male Omegas are lying on the floor, stripped to their briefs. The Pack sentinels are hitting them with whips and sticks made out of thorns. Their cries grow louder with each torture they pass through.
Adrian must have ordered this. His insane pursuit to find out who my alleged lover is has made him turn so cruel.
But how could he think I would get involved with an Omega? Is this how low he thinks of me right now? Did he lose all his love for me overnight and now think I’m a slut?
I hear the door open and I rush back inside the room, freezing at the sight of Adrian. He looks pathetic like he’s been suffering for weeks.
Happy tears flood down my eyes as I run into his arms, holding him tightly. Goddess, how much I’ve missed inhaling his
scent!
I don’t feel his arms around me, so much against my will, I let him go.
His eyes are dark with horror and resentment, as he stares down at me. I’ve never seen him look so broken. Not even when his father died.
“If you have any bit of respect left for me, then please tell me who the man is. Tell me the name of the man you cuckolded me with,” Adrian says, coldly watching me.
“He doesn’t exist, Adrian. I never cheated on you. Please, believe me,” I plead, grabbing his shirt and going on my knees.
“Till the end, you’re gonna keep lying to me. How the hell do you not have any bit of conscience?” Adrian rubs his forehead, showing how exhausted he is.
“I’m telling you the truth, love. Please-”
“Don’t call me that again!” He rasps, pushing my hands off his shirt. “You don’t ever get to call me your love. Not after cheating on me!”
“Adrian…”
“It all ends tomorrow night, Tessa. I’ll be rejecting you tomorrow night. And after that, you’ll be gone out of my life for good.”
“Adrian, please-”
“But that’s not enough to make you pay for hurting me like this. Rejecting you isn’t enough. Humiliating you in front of everyone isn’t enough either. I regret ever accepting you as my mate and Luna, Tessa,”
“Adrian, please. Don’t say that…”
“But it’s true. I shouldn’t have. Then maybe, you would never be able to hurt me this way.” He sniff’s back what I think are tears and continues. “You’re gonna regret ever toying with the love and trust I had for you, Tessa. Karma’s gonna get you for
it.”
“Adrian, I didn’t cheat on you. I would never do that. Please!” This time, I desperately cling to him, but he pushes me off vehemently, raising his hands to hit me.
I let out a gasp, shutting my eyes and awaiting the pain from his bold, large hand. When I don’t feel it, I look up to find him towering over me, with his hand hanging in the air.
He’s trembling from the fury boiling inside him and hot tears flow down his eyes. Slowly, he brings down his hand and leaves the room.
I’m stunned to my bones, replaying what just happened. Is it just my imagination or did Adrian really raise his hand to hit
me?
Oh, dear God. What has happened to us? I’m sobbing again, cuddling my feet to my chest.
