Alpha Tarnac pov

The moment I saw her wolf I was hooked. It’s like I had a connection but couldn’t figure out why. Antar, my wolf, was trying to figure out what the connection was. He agrees and hopes she’s our mate. I’m tired of year after year having no one. I just want someone that I can spoil and love. When she ran off Antar just started whining. Almost like he didn’t even care if she was our mate or not. He just wanted her by our side and to never leave it.

I shift and start heading back to the pack house when I hear a scream. Antar is on high alert and we run full speed to where we hear the scream coming from. I can hear snarling and rustling when another scream pierces the air. I pick up the speed calling for guards and when I start to come to the edge of the forest I see her on the ground. Antar is trying to talk to her wolf but she isn’t responding.

It’s clear that she’s been attacked and was on the verge of being torn to shreds. There’s blood everywhere and she has cuts all over her body. Guards come running up when I quickly pick her up, mind linking the pack doctor. I run with her straight in through the main doors into a room when the medical staff start working on her immediately. I’m absolutely covered in blood when all I see is red. I go storming out of the medical wards telling the doctor to keep me updated.

I walk straight to the back door of the kitchen when Molly sees me coming up covered in blood. She quickly opens the door when I enter and all the workers stop to stare. I locate Trinity’s mom who just stares.

“Misty, get to the hospital right now. Trinity has been hurt badly.”

I see her cover her mouth as most of the women do and she goes running. I tell everyone to just do what they can do and if lunch is late that’s fine. I go walking out through the dining hall and out to the training fields. Everyone stops to stare when I walk right up to Raston when he just looks to the side.

“I smelled your scent all over her. If she dies you will lose your life. Is that understood? I will not have pack members killing each other regardless of their status in the pack. If the moment she wakes up she says you attacked her you will pay for what you did. Is that understood?”

“What are you going to do Alpha? Put me in the dungeon?”

“Oh no! Even better. You will be demoted. Lose your warrior status, and be reassigned with a new job. I think the kitchen could use a little help.”

“You have got to be fucking kidding me! I will not work in that kitchen.”

“Oh yes you will, and you will enjoy every minute of it. What would be better than working for the mother of the person you attacked.”

I watch him stare straight at me seething when he walks off. Oh I think that will be the best idea ever. I just smirk with Antar when we get a mind link from the doctor.

‘Alpha you need to come to the hospital.’

I go running back over towards the hospital and when I enter the doctor meets me outside the room. I can see her mom in there bawling and she looks terrible. That jackass did a number on her, and I’m just blown away that he would take it to that extent.

“Ok so this is what we know. Her wolf is unconscious from trying to protect Trinity to the max. I don’t know how big the wolf is who did it but I have a gut feeling it wasn’t a fair fight. I had to close her wounds with stitches because her body isn’t trying to even heal itself. Almost like it’s just given up due to what happened. I explained to her mom that it will be touch and go until we get any kind of indication on what her wolf wants to do.”

I just nod my head because I know it wasn’t a fair fight. Not even in the slightest. When I enter the room I see her mom laying her head on her bed holding her hand.

“Misty, go home and get some clothes so that way you can stay here with her. I’ll sit here until you get back.”

She nods when she runs out to go get her stuff to come back. I just sit in the chair and grab Trinity’s hand that looks so tiny when it’s in mine.

“Trinity, if you can hear me, I know who did it. I could smell him all over you. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to protect you. I promise if it turns out you’re my mate I will protect you every minute of the day. While I ran with you to the hospital I made the decision that even if you aren’t my mate, and you don’t find yours I will take you as a choice mate. I have this urge to protect you with my wolf and we don’t understand why. Please Ava if you can hear me help her. I know you’re tired from fighting. Take your time to rest but please. Nothing like this will ever happen again I promise.”

After about twenty minutes her mom comes running back in and drops a suitcase on the floor at the door. I go to stand up when Misty grabs my arm.

“Please Alpha, do you know who did this to my baby?”

“I do Misty, and that person will be dealt with. He knows he is on thin ice right now.”

She nods her head and sits with her daughter. I walk out of the room requesting an extra bed and anything Misty needs so she can stay right next to her daughter until she wakes back up. She has to wake back up. Antar is smitten with her wolf, and doesn’t care anymore. Mate or not I want her to be mine. I head back towards the pack house when I mind link for my Beta Torad to get to my office with Raston.

When I enter I see them both sitting there and my stomach just turns. As much as I want to rip his fucking head off right now we have laws that have to be followed. I sit down and start looking through the papers for the proper documents to be filled out. When I set them on my desk I just looked up at my beta because I never thought I would ever be put in this position.

“Can you hurry this shit up? I got shit to do and this is wasting my time!”

I see my beta’s eyes get huge when I let a growl rip through my office shaking the walls.

“Who the fuck do you think you are talking to?”

I stand up walking around my desk when he stands up also. I see my Beta jump up ready to jump in if needed.

“You think you’re going to stand toe to toe with me? Your Alpha! I have never ever wanted to be in this position, but you left me no choice! How dare our head warrior attack and almost kill another member in our pack! There will be consequences!”

I see out of the corner of my eye Torad looks between this piece of this and me in shock. I slowly back up watching Raston the whole time when I sit back down in my chair.

“Watch this piece of shit!”

I look down at the paperwork and start filling it out. I’m not even waiting for her to wake up. The only scent on her was this asshole. When I cornered him I could smell her scent and blood all over him. So there was no doubt in my mind. He tried to clean it all off but did a shitty job. Once the paperwork is filled out, I stamp it and pull out his copies. I stand up staring straight at Raston.

“Due to your actions today this will be your punishment. You are hereby stripped of your title as head warrior. You will no longer serve as a warrior for this pack. You will be taken to your housing for the time being and will be guarded. You will not be permitted to leave at any time. Once Trinity wakes up you will face your victim one last time before your sentence is carried out. That sentence will be what Trinity decides. Life as a rogue, or death.”

“You can’t fucking do this!”

“I can, and I just did! Here are your copies. An announcement will be sent out to neighboring packs notifying them of what you have done, and what will be done.”

I mind link guards to come to the office to escort Raston to his apartment. Once he leaves Torad just looks at me in shock. I motion for him to follow me when we walk back over to the hospital. When we enter and walk to her room he just stops in his tracks looking through the window.

“Raston did that? Oh my goddess Tarnac. Will she even survive?”

“We don’t know yet. Both her and her wolf aren’t responding. She was barely even alive when I found her. I’m still covered in her blood.”

I see the door open and Misty comes out to talk to me.

“The person who did this is currently in house confinement and guarded till further notice. Once she wakes up he will come face her and she will decide what his punishment will be.”

“Alpha her wolf is awake but won’t talk to anyone but your wolf.”

I nod my head and both Torad and I walk in the room when I walk over to Trinity when Ankar tries to reach out to her wolf. Ava weakly answers and starts whimpering from the pain. Ankar tries to soothe her, but it’s not helping since we aren’t her mate.

‘Did you mean what you said earlier?’

‘Every word Ava. If in a couple days you are not my mate and you do not find yours I will take you as a choice mate. Now rest, You’re safe now.’

I feel the link cut so I know she is doing what she is supposed to do. I smile at her mom telling her everything will be ok.

“Please Alpha what did her wolf say?”

“I made a promise to her earlier and will stand by it. I’m going to have guards stand outside the room to guard through the night.”
