Chapter 20

Coughing as the air is knocked out his lungs.With renewed anger and anguish over what he has done. Pulling my leg back I kicked him in his ribs with all my strength. He flies across the floor slamming hard into the wall. Slouching on the floor coughing up blood and wheezing as I approach with my claws out. My eyes filled with rage and pain.

“ Wait! Wait!!! It’s not what you think! Please Ezra isn’t dead Ami!!! I swear!!” says the man in between coughs.

“I do not believe you!” I growled

“You killed him! And for that I will make sure you suffer. I will kill you!”I tell him in a deadly tone.

“No! No!!” screams the man

With the way the dull light hits my eyes making them appear demonic. The man pales and starts to scream in terror. As I raise my hand up to slice his face tears streaming down my face. The pain of the loss flashing across my eyes. Making him realize the pain he has caused me and the pain I will cause him. My claws come down starting to dig into his skin. When a strong pair of arms wrap around me pulling me off the man. I thrash trying to break free not sure who it is that is restraining me. The arms strengthen their hold me tighter. When I was about to smash my skull into the individual who grabbed me. I hear a familiar voice of whom the arms belong to.

“Baby please don’t murder Derek’s boyfriend. I don’t think he would appreciate that.” a voice I recognize chuckles.

I still and slowly turn my head up looking up. To see Ezra smiling down at me fully alive and well. The shock of seeing him alive was too much. A scream rips from my throat.

“It can’t be I saw you….I saw he shot you..How..how are you here…why protect him!!!” I say softly with a hint of betrayal

I look between the man who has scurried off to the corner clutching his heart at his near death experience. He begins to wheeze, he reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out his inhaler. No doubt trying to calm it down and his breathing. Looking back at Ezra with eyes full of pain and betrayal.

Ezra holds me tighter, “it was a part of Derek’s plan. He didn’t want me to tell you when he came by while you were in the shower.” He explains

“Why?! Do you know the pain you put me through!!! How the hell did you think I wasn’t going to be broken seeing you get shot like that?!!! What the hell were you both thinking?!” I yelled at him.

“He wanted to make sure that the act was believable and with you not knowing anything it made that much more realistic. And it put Gordon’s guard down to a certain extent.” Ezra tells me

“Derek made me a custom bullet proof jacket that was thin enough to fit under my shirt but thick enough to stop the bullets.” Ezra explains.

“And you I will be using you as my own scratching post and make you bleed for this!” I promise.

The man pales more. “ It was Derek’s idea. I told him that doing this would cause a bad reaction.”

“ You haven’t seen anything yet” I growled.

The man squeaks in response. Ezra chuckles, pulling me into a hug kissing the top of my head.

“I love you Ami, but save the wrath for when we take down Lunar next. With this attack we are set to take them out.”

“Oh no you don’t you are still in trouble for this whole stunt with this cowering idiot. Who apparently doesn’t feel like giving his name but is totally ok with just squeaking.”

“His name is Jesse and he has been spliced with aardvark. You’ll see when he removes his hat. And I will make up for this but right now we must pick up Gordon’s body and head to his house. Ezra states.

“Well if you two are going to do that let’s get the hell out of here. The sirens are getting closer and I don’t want to be mixed up in this.” Says Jesse

“Fine but Ezra I am still going to kick your ass when we get home and Jesse shut the fuck up before I kill you right now” I state.

“Like to see you try” he winks.

Jesse gulps as we quickly make our exit out the emergency escape just in time for the car to pull up in the alley. We all jump in the squeeze together to fit inside. The car takes off as we make our way to Gordon’s home. The only thought that goes through my head is that soon I will have my revenge on my mother for all that she has done to me. Soon I will be able to live my life with Ezra in peace.

It took us about twenty minutes for us to make it to the estate. Jesse picked the pockets on Gordon’s dead body. After a few moments of searching he pulls out a set of keys. Passing them to Derek, we all exited the car. I still have my claws released just waiting for the chance to rip open Jesse’s throat.

Once inside the five of us make our way inside the study where Ezra sits down in front of the computer. And begins to type with rapid speed into the keyboard. Quickly accessing all of Gordon’s information. After a few moments of searching through the command line accessing the internal documents. Ezra uncovers all of Gordon’s financial support.

Opening up another window Ezra begins to hack his way into Gordon’s financial accounts. Backing up all the proof of his wrong doings onto a flash drive as well as how much each sale of a woman brought him. Once all the documents are backed up onto his flash drive. He begins to move the money into various shell accounts before finally depositing a third into a specific shell account for Megan and for her to fund our group. Another third into an account for Derek and finally a third for us into an account for us. While he wasn’t looking I moved the money from the account that he claims was for us. And placed all the money in a shell account that opened when Oliver was my partner.

The total that was deposited made my eye bug out. Ezra has deposited three and a half million into our account. What Megan didn’t know is that Ezra had all her things that she has done as well back up on to another flash drive for us. What Ezra didn’t know was after that stunt he put I swapped the flash drives so that I have all the information. Between the one housing all of Gordon’s information and the other housing all the information about Megan.

As well as all her business dealings. We decided that once we are finished with Lunar we want to live a quiet life together without all of this craziness. And to take the jobs that only we want to take.
