It was then I found out that the blue liquid was laced with a sleeping agent. To ensure that wouldn’t wake but heal. They hoped by doing so it would put less strain on my body. Finally, the day came where they set me back on the prop and drained out the liquid. My eyes were still closed even though the bandages have long since dissolved.

Sara removed the tubes, and stitched up my wounds. I didn’t feel any pain, after all that I have gone through my pain tolerance has substantially increased.

“Now Ami, it is going to take a moment for your body to activate this but since Sara stitched up your wounds. It should speed up the process of your enhanced healing abilities, said Dr. Smith.

With that I finally opened my eyes. The room came into view with sharp detail. It was very high tech and modernized. Each doctor sat in their chair observing me. I gasped as I saw myself. My canines have elongated to that of a snow leopard and slightly poked out my mouth. My ears were no longer on the side of my head but towards the top like a snow leopard. My once blue hair was now snow white color. My nails were longer and about a half inch in length.

I noticed I could retract and extend them at will. Turning behind me I noticed my now tail snow white color just like my hair. My body felt stronger, more noble. I tried to stand my legs being a little wobbly.

I looked down and noticed my feet had mutated. They looked to be a cross between snow leopard paws and human feet. Looking at my hands I found the same thing. I still had my fingers and toes but the characteristics of paws were still there. Examining my body I noticed I was covered in snow leopard fur. It was longer on my arms to my elbow and from my feet to my knees.

However, the soft fur lined my whole body. My chest was still the same though covered with fur though. I relaxed slightly when I noticed and internally thankful for the amount of fur on my face was not a lot. The white fur covered my cheeks ever so slightly. My eyes changed from brown to jade green.

My facial features were now more snow leopard like. But looking in the mirror I was no longer mocha brown but soft gray that matched the spots on my fur. It wasn’t a sickly looking gray but there was no denying I had fully sync with the snow leopard DNA.

“Come Ami, we need to get you some clothes. I have already informed Megan of our awakening.”, says Dr. Smith.

I follow him to another room where he shows me a closet filled with different types of combat ready clothes. I found a sports bra underwear match. That surprisingly had a hole in just the right place for my tail.

“All these clothes have been customized for you and to accommodate your tail as well.” , he explained.

I grab a pair of cargo black pants and a black tank top. I matched them with a pair of steel toed boots. That normally would be heavy but felt light to me. Once I was fully clothed Dr. Smith led me out as we headed for Megan’s office. Hopefully, this time I could have more of my questions answered.

We walked for a while passing by many rooms and hallways that needed specific clearance to go through. That apparently, the doctor had access to. After a ten minute walk we finally made it to Megan’s office. One thing for sure I was not in the same building as I was when this whole thing began. I really doubt Megan was in the mood to give me some answers.

Cause I really need to know what is going on and what she intends to do with me. Dr. Smith opens the door to her office allowing me to enter. There were two seats in front of her desks where she sat waiting for us patiently. If she wasn’t the one who has done this to me I would have been just as naive as before.

“Thank you Smith, for bringing Ami here. Ami now that your splice has been completed your training will begin.”, looking at me with expectation.

“Megan, you choose me for this why? What could you have seen in me for you to do this to me. I know this procedure is not reversible. You have implanted a whole new muscle structure and composition in me.”, returning her gaze with my own.

“Well to be honest you have no family who would look for you if you have gone missing for about the last six months.”, smiling like that is no big deal.

“Six months?!”, I yelled in surprise.

“Yes, six months Ami you are the fastest one to complete the change and live. There is only one more like you. You will meet him if you survive your training next as the plan is for you both to be partnered together.”, stating frankly.

“And the rest of my questions?”, I ask.

She signed,” Ami, you will be getting a new name, you will be going by, you will be getting paid for the jobs you do for us. And you were chosen because your body’s metabolism and genetic make up matched with our program that scouted you.”

Examining on how I will take this information she continues, “Your body was an idle candidate and with no familiar ties looking for you made it just much easier for us to continue our work.”

Digesting everything she has told me, “So to sum it all up my lack of family, my genetic makeup making me able to fully sync with the snow leopard DNA is the reason why I am like this. And you intend to pay me to be an assassin for you. Ok, so who exactly am I working for and where will I be living?”

Liking at home I am taking the new, which to be honest there isn’t much point in fighting them on it. I get the feeling it is either join them or be killed by them.

Megan nods and continues to explain, “We are Crescent, a hidden group of assassins we control much of the assassinations that go on here. We are rivals with Lunar who wish to overthrow us in this. That’s all you need to know for now.”

“And my living conditions?”, I ask.

“You will remain in your pod to make sure your body is fully stabilized and 100% in sync as well as fully merged with your new DNA. Once that is down you will begin training and be moved into a suite with Oliver. If you complete everything and live, you will be given your code name and learn Oliver’s.”
