Rosanne’s Point of View:

I waited and waited for the pain to come, but nothing happened.

‘What’s going on? Am I already dead now? Did it happen so fast until I couldn’t feel anything?’ I asked myself in bewilderment.

Carefully, I peeled my eyes open. What I saw made me give a gasp of horror.

Ivan’s Point of View:

A few hours earlier...

When Borris, one of the Omegas in the Bloodrose Pack, told me that the council members were here and they requested my presence in the meeting room, I had a feeling in my guts that something was wrong. I was afraid that their arrival had something to do with my daughter and the fact that she’s a half-blood vampire.

It seemed that Rosanne could sense that there was something off too. Therefore, when I intended to go, she held me back. She asked me about the council members and why they came here. I explained as best as I could and told her not to worry about anything.

After I could convince my daughter that everything was gonna be all right, I hurried to the pack house and went straight to the meeting room.

Nine council members, who came to Bloodrose Pack today, had been waiting for me in the meeting room. I recognized their faces but I couldn’t put names to them. The only person whose name I remembered was Ragnulf Odwolf. He was the Head of the Council and also the oldest of those nine council members.

Besides them, Alpha Adolph Wolfgang and his son, Randolph already arrived in this room too. So including me, there were twelve of us in total here.

Councilor Ragnulf Odwolf sat at the head of the table. Alpha Wolfgang took a seat across from him, at the other head of the table. The seat next to the Alpha was occupied by his son.

I exchanged greetings with the council members before I parked myself in one of the vacant seats which was situated beside Randolph. Not long after that, the meeting was started.

I felt my hackles rise as the council members began to speak. My fear was confirmed. Apparently, their purpose of coming here was only to insult my daughter. They said that vampires and werewolves were enemy. And because my daughter was a half-blood vampire, she became one of our enemies too, and it was inappropriate for her to stay in a werewolf pack cause she could be a threat to our packs.

I emphasized that Rosangela wasn’t the enemy of the werewolves and her staying here wouldn’t threaten anyone. Randolph agreed with me. He said that Rosanne was his friend and had become a part of his family too.

However, the council members didn’t want to listen to us. They said that even if we didn’t consider Rosanne as a threat, her grandfather would be a real threat for us. They were afraid that the vampire king would declare war on the werewolves in the attempt to get his only granddaughter back.

I told them that I wasn’t afraid of King Bellamy. I would never let him take my daughter away from me, and I was ready to go to war if it’s necessary.

Randolph stood up for me. He stated that he was willing to help me fight against the vampire king in order to protect his best friend, Rosanne.

The council members reminded us that if a war between the werewolves and the vampires broke out, many innocent lives would be put at risk.

Their words left me speechless. I didn’t want to lose my daughter, but I couldn’t sacrifice innocent people’s lives either.

Alpha Adolph Wolfgang finally asked what they exactly wanted from us.

They answered that they wanted Alpha Wolfgang to kick Rosangela out of the Bloodrose Pack.

Of course, I wouldn’t let it happen. I had just reunited with my daughter after seventeen years long, and now I didn’t want to part with her again.

To my relief, Alpha Wolfgang refused to kick Rosanne out of his pack because he thought that Rosanne had become a member of Bloodrose Pack now.

Because Alpha Wolfgang had declined their demand, the council members then threatened to kick Rosanne out of this pack by force.

Their threat made my blood boil. But before I could make a retort, Alpha Wolfgang cut off. He begged them to let Rosangela live in this pack because she had nowhere else to stay.

But they didn’t care. They just wanted Rosanne to leave the werewolf’s territory as soon as possible. And if she didn’t leave immediately, they would spread the news of Rosanne’s presence here to all of the packs in the supernatural realm.

If all those packs knew that Rosangela was the granddaughter of King Bellamy, she would be in a great danger. That vampire king had killed thousands of innocent werewolves. And the families of those werewolves might want to harm Rosanne in order to take their revenge on King Bellamy.

The council members’ threat flew me into a fury. I bellowed, “If you dare to lay a finger on my daughter, I swear I will kill every single of your family member. And I’ll make you watch it before I kill you with my own hand.”

The council member hollered, “How dare you threaten me like that! You—”

“Chill out, Gentlemen!” Alpha Wolfgang cut in, “We still can talk it over, right?”

“There’s nothing else we need to talk about, Alpha Wolfgang. Kick that vampire out of your territory soon, or else we can’t guarantee her safety anymore,” Ragnulf Odwolf stated firmly.

“I don’t need you to guarantee my daughter’s safety. I can take care of my daughter myself. I will protect her with all my might,” I said confidently.

After that, I got into a heat argument with those council members. I’d had enough of their lips. That’s why I decided to walk out.

Getting to my feet, I stomped out of the meeting room in high dudgeon. But I abruptly stopped dead in my track when I smelt my daughter’s scent along the hallway.

‘Oh no! Rosanne was here. She must have heard my argument with the council members. I must find her before she has a misunderstanding,’ I thought.

I followed her scent out of the house. To my astonishment, her scent led to the forest.

‘Oh my God! Rosanne has just run into a forest full of rogues. I have to ask for Alpha Wolfgang’s help because I can’t fight those rogues alone if they try to attack her,’ I thought.

I spun on my heel and scurried back to the pack house. As I trotted down the hallway leading to the meeting hall, I could faintly hear the heat conversation between the Alpha and the council members. Thank God they hadn’t left yet.

I burst into the room without bothering to knock. The room suddenly lapsed into silence. And now, everyone turned their attention to me.

“Alpha Wolfgang,” I wheezed. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ (ꜰind)ɴʘvel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Standing up, the Alpha enquired, “What’s going on, Beta Ivan?”

“Rosanne,” was my only answer.

At the mention of her name, Randolph asked worriedly, “What’s wrong with Rosanne?”

“I think she ran away. Her scent is leading to the forest,” I explained.

“Oh no, Dad! There are many rogues in the forest. Rosanne is in great danger now. We have to find her first before the rogues find her,” Randolph said.

“You’re right, Son,” Alpha Wolfgang agreed, “Let’s go!”

Alpha Wolfgang and Randolph rose to their feet. We were about to walk out of the room, but the head of council held us back, “Wait! Where are you going, Alpha Wolfgang? We aren’t done speaking yet.”

“Our discussion can wait,” Alpha Wolfgang stated firmly, “Now we must look for Rosangela first. I don’t want anything happen to her.”

Without waiting for his response, the three of us strode out of the meeting room.

Alpha Wolfgang gathered his best warriors in the pack house. After explaining the situation to them, we hurried to the forest to look for my daughter.

I, Alpha Wolfgang, Randolph, and the warriors searched through the forest for Rosangela, but there was no sign of her anywhere.

‘Where are you, Rosanne?’ I asked myself anxiously.

The sky grew dark and night finally descended. Nevertheless, we hadn’t found Rosangela yet. I knew that Rosanne was afraid of darkness, and it made me worry about her even more.

‘Please God let her be okay!’ I prayed silently.

“Beta Ivan,” one of the warriors suddenly called out my name.

I turned around and found a warrior running towards me.

“What’s wrong?” I inquired as soon as he stood before me.

“I found this cloth got stuck in the tree root. It has Rosanne’s scent on it,” the warrior said as he handed it to me.

My eyes widened when I recognized it as a torn piece of Rosanne’s white dress. “It belongs to Rosanne,” I told them.

“Rosanne must be not far from here. Come along!” said Alpha Wolfgang.

We went deeper into the forest. After some time, we eventually found Rosangela. She was surrounded by a group of rogues.

When the rouges were trying to lunge at Rosanne, Alpha Wolfgang quickly signaled us to attack them.

Back to Rosanne’s Point of View:

Some of the wolves that tried to attack me were now tackled by other wolves. And the rest of them were lying unconscious on the ground. I saw blood oozing out of their wounds. But because they were werewolves, most of their wounds were slowly starting to heal.

“Are you okay, Rosanne?” A question brought me out of my trance.

I turned to the direction of the voice and found Randolph standing beside me. He was only wearing a pair of trousers, and didn’t put on a shirt so that I could see his six-pack stomach clearly.

“Randolph...” I sobbed. I hugged him soon.

Randolph hugged me back.

“I’m scared,” I whispered.

“Don’t be afraid! You’re safe now,” he reassured me.

When I saw Alpha Wolfgang and my father approaching us, I detached myself from Randolph’s embrace.

“Are you out of your mind, Rosangela? Why did you run into the forest? Don’t you know that it’s very dangerous out here? There are a lot of rouges in this forest. You’re lucky because we’re here to save you. If we didn’t come on time, you would have died by now,” Dad reprimanded me.

“Don’t be too hard on her, Ivan!” Alpha Wolfgang advised him.

“No, Alpha! My daughter has to know that what she has done is wrong,” my father said firmly, and it made me cringe.

“Now I want you to explain to me! Why did you run away from the pack, young lady?” Dad demanded angrily.

I wanted to explain why I decided to run away, but the words seemed to stick in my throat. All I could utter was, “I’m sorry.” And I suddenly burst into tears.

My father’s face softened as he looked at my tears. “There, there! Don’t cry!” He soothed me as he held me in a warm embrace.

After I felt calmer, Dad let go of his embrace. He then wiped my tears with the back of his hand.

“Let’s go back to the pack! Everyone must be getting frantic by now,” Alpha Wolfgang said.

I responded him with a nod. Randolph and my father did the same thing too.

My Dad wrapped his arm around my shoulders, and finally we started walking back to the Bloodrose Pack’s territory. The warriors who came to my rescue followed behind us, dragging the werewolves who tried to attack me with them.
