At last, after twelve hours on the road, we arrived at our destination: Bloodrose Pack Land. This was where my father had been living for the past seventeen years. Our journey took longer than necessary because we had to stop multiple times. First, we stopped to buy me new clothes so that I could ditch the wedding dress I was wearing before. Well, we just didn’t want people to get shocked to see me coming in wedding dress. Next, we stopped for food, after that, for toilet break, and of course for a well-earned rest too.

Randolph stopped the car in front of the gates that had thick brick wall on the either side of it. He rolled down his car window and ordered the guards who were posted outside the pack land to open the gates. The guards complied quickly.

As we entered the gates of Bloodrose Pack land, I saw men, women, and children lining up along both sides of the street. They were apparently here to greet our arrival.

The crowd cheered as we drove slowly by. They must be happy to see that their alpha had returned safe and sound after accomplishing his rescue operation. To appreciate his people’s enthusiasm, Alpha Adolph Wolfgang wound his window down and waved at them.

Leaving the crowd of people, our car rolled back down the road past some buildings and houses and finally halted before a very large house.

“Here we are!” Randolph announced as he switched off the engine.

“Whose house is it?” I queried after we all got out of the car.

“This is the pack house,” Randolph replied.

I frowned. “Pack house?”

“Yes. This is the Alpha’s official residence. Sometimes the beta, gamma, delta, and other pack members will also stay here when there is a lot of work to do for the Pack,” he explained.

“I see!” I nodded my head in understanding. “So you live here too, Randolph?”

“No. Only my parents, the Alpha and the Luna, who live here. Meanwhile, I prefer to live in my own house,” he answered.

“Yeah, a house which is only a five-minute walk from here so he can go home anytime he feels hungry to ask for food from his mother,” Alpha Wolfgang said in mocking tone.

Randolph’s cheeks burned with embarrassment. “Dad!”

The three of us chuckled. Meanwhile, Randolph’s lips were set in a pout of annoyance.

“Let’s go inside now!” The Alpha said.

We walked towards the front door. Alpha Adolph Wolfgang knocked at the door. Moments later, a woman in her early middle age answered the door.

Her face lit up when saw Alpha Wolfgang and she immediately launched herself into the alpha’s arms.

Wrapping his arms around her, the alpha kissed her on the lips.

Seeing what they were doing, my father gave a little cough to attract their attention.

The Alpha and the woman soon broke apart. I could see a faint blush cross the woman’s cheeks. Meanwhile, Alpha Wolfgang was grinning from ear to ear.

‘Men,’ I thought, rolling my eyes upwards.

“Good afternoon, Luna,” my father greeted the woman.

“Good afternoon, Beta Ivan,” she returned his greeting.

After that, she turned to me and said with a smile, “You must be Rosangela.”

“Please call me Rosanne!” I requested. Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Okay. Hi Rosanne. I’m Meredith Wolfgang, the Luna of Bloodrose Pack.” She held out her hand to me.

'Luna? What is it? Randolph and my father also mentioned the word ‘Luna’ before, but I don’t know what it means. I should ask them later,' I thought.

I shook her hand. “Hello, Mrs. Wolfgang. Nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you too, Sweetheart,” she said.

“Excuse me, Mrs. Wolfgang, if you don’t mind me asking, what is Luna?” I questioned.

“A Luna is the female leader in a pack, in other word, she is the alpha’s mate,” she elaborated.

“Oh okay, I understand,” I said.

“Come on in!” Meredith stepped back to let me enter the house.

“I have made some lunch for you. You must be hungry, right?” she said.

“Yes, I’m starving,” I replied.

Luna Meredith led me to the dining room. Alpha Wolfgang, Randolph, and my father followed behind us.

We sat round the table and then had lunch together. After thanking Mrs. Wolfgang for the delicious food she had prepared for us, I and my father finally excused ourselves.

“Do you need a ride home?” Randolph offered when he saw us out.

“No, thanks. We can walk,” my father refused.

“I didn’t ask you, Ivan, but Rosanne,” Randolph complained.

My dad rolled his eyes at Randolph before he turned to me and asked, “Do you mind if we walked home, Rosanne?”

“No Dad, I don’t mind,” I answered.

“See? She doesn’t mind walking home with me,” Dad said with a mocking smile.

Randolph pursed his lips in annoyance. I tried my hardest to stifle a giggle.

“Come on, Rosanne!” My dad held my hand and pulled me along.

“See you later, Randolph.” I waved my hand at him as I and my father walked away.
