Prince Xavier’s Point of View:

The girl sitting on the bed spun around and gave me a broad grin. “Hi Xavier.”

I came into the room and shut the door behind me.

“Angela, you’re here?” I queried confusedly.

“Of course. Where do you think I am?” she retorted.

“Where have you been? I’ve been looking for you everywhere,” I inquired worriedly.

“What are you talking about? I have been in my bedroom all the time,” she lied.

“Don’t lie to me!” I snapped at her. “I went to check on you half an hour ago, but you’re not here.”

Angela blanched.

“So tell me now! Where have you been, Angela?” I demanded.

“It’s none of your business,” she said icily.

“Of course it’s my business,” I growled.

“I can go wherever I want and I don’t have to tell you about it. You don’t own me, Xavier!” she hissed.

“Oh yes, I own you, Angela. You’re my pet, remember?” I reminded her.

“I am not your pet,” she denied.

“Yes, you are,” I insisted.

“No, I am not,” she shouted angrily.

“Yes, you are,” I yelled back.

“No, I am—”

“Stop it!” I cut her off. “Why is it so hard for you just to tell me where you have been?”

Before she could give a reply, I jumped in, “Ah don’t tell me you tried to escape that’s why you don’t want to tell me where you’re going!”

Angela seemed surprised for a moment but quickly recovered her poise. “Come on, Xavier! If I did try to escape, why would I come back here again?”

“She’s right. She wouldn’t have come back here if she really tried to run away,” I thought.

“Then where have you been all this time?” I questioned.

“Fine. I’ll tell you. I was so bored staying in my room the whole time, so I decided to take a walk,” she answered.

“You should have asked my permission first if you wanted to take a walk, Angela!” I roared.

“I don’t need your permission for everything that I want to do. I can do everything as I please,” she sassed.

“You surely need my permission because I’m your master,” I deliberately emphasized the word ‘master’ so she could understand what I was to her.

“How many times do I have to tell you that you’re not my master and I’m not your pet?” she hollered. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I huffed. I would never win an argument with this stubborn girl. So, I decided to call it quits. “Forget it! It’s no use arguing with you.”

She smirked in satisfaction.

I finally tried to change the subject. “Do you know what happened here while you’re missing?”

She shook her head. “No, I don’t have idea. What happened?”

“Many prisoners have escaped from the dungeon,” I told her.

She furrowed her eyebrows. “Okay, but what do these prisoners have to do with me?”

“Do you know who one of the prisoners that escaped is?” I asked.

“No, I don’t know,” she replied, “Who is it?”

“Your werewolf friend,” I answered.

Her eyes widened in astonishment. “What?! You mean Randolph?”

“Yes,” I responded, “he has escaped from the dungeon along with the other prisoners.”

She shook her head in disbelief. “No, it’s impossible. If Randolph wanted to escape, why didn’t he bring me with him? How could he do this to me? I’m his mate. But why did he leave me behind like this?”

Angela’s words suddenly made me realize something. “Angela, this werewolf friend of yours, he is not your mate, isn’t he?”

“No, he—”

She tried to lie to me again, but I cut her in, “Don’t lie to me or else the consequence will be severe!”

She sighed and finally conceded, “That’s right. Randolph isn’t my real mate. But how do you know about it?”

“Werewolves are very protective and possessive over their mates. They would rather die than leave their mates behind,” I explained.

“Oh,” she mumbled.

“Why did you lie to us that he is your mate?” I enquired.

“I didn’t lie to anyone,” she refuted, “Randolph did. He was the first who said we were mates. I just followed the flow to cover up for him.”

“Okay, so why did your werewolf friend lie?” I demanded.

“He didn’t have a choice. We love each other. But because I am not his mate, his pack members were against our relationship. That’s why we decided to elope,” she elaborated.

I burst into laughter.

“What are you laughing at?” she queried.

“You said you’re not his mate but he fell in love with you?” I wanted to make sure.

“Yeah. What’s so funny about that?” Confusion was written all over her face.

“I think you’re being ridiculous. Is it even possible for a werewolf to fall in love with someone who isn’t his mate?” I questioned.

Angela paused for a moment before replying, “Nothing is impossible in this world.”

“What if one day he finds his true mate and decides to abandon you?” I enquired.

She replied, “No, I know Randolph, he will never do that.”

“But he already did it. He has just abandoned you here and ran away alone. Such a coward!” I sneered.

“I am sure he did it for a reason,” she countered.

“And what’s his reason?” I demanded.

“How can I know? Why don’t you ask the swaying grass?” she teased.

I faked a laugh. “Haha very funny.”

“Look! Even if he left me now, one day, he is going to come back to take me home. I am sure of that,” she said with certitude.

“Let’s just wait and see if he can take you away from me, Little Pet!” I challenged.

Her only answer was a grunt.

“Don’t think you can escape without punishment, Angela! You must be punished for leaving the palace without my permission,” I stated.

“Hey, why do I have to be punished? It’s not fair!” she protested.

I chuckled. “Life is so unfair sometimes, Angela.”

“Fine. You can punish me as you please. I don’t give a damn about it,” she spat.

“Okay then, I’ve decided that your punishment is you must stay by my side 24/7,” I said.

“What?!” she squawked.

“You heard me. Now go pack your clothes and then meet me in my bedroom! Start now on, you are going to sleep in the same room as me. I won’t let you out of my sight ever again,” I stated.

Before she could argue, I stormed out of her bedroom, slamming the door as I left.
