Prince Xavier’s Point of View:

I went ballistic when the maid whom I asked to look after Rosangela while I was away told me what my father had done to her.

‘So this is the reason why you sent me on an errand out of town, Dad? You deliberately packed me off so that you can execute your evil plan to Rosangela,’ I thought furiously.

I deeply regretted that I didn’t bring Rosangela along with me. None of this would have happened if I’d listened to her pleas.

Without wasting time, I dropped everything I was doing here and hastened back to my kingdom at once.

On arriving home, I went straight to my bedroom only to find Rosangela wasn’t there. Instead, the maid whom I ordered to take care of her was in my room. She was shaking like a leaf when she saw me coming.

“Where is Angela?” I demanded aggressively.

“I’m sorry, Your Highness,” the maid apologized. Her voice sounded shaky.

“I don’t need your apology. I just want to know where Angela is right now,” I snapped at her.

“King Joaquin had some guards shift her somewhere else, Your Highness,” she replied in a quavering voice.

“Tell me what really happened!” I barked out an order.

The maid hesitated a second but finally told me what was going on in my absence.

My hands were balled into fists in anger after I heard everything.

“I’m sorry I’ve failed to protect her as you asked me to, Your Highness.” She hung her head in regret.

Ignoring her words, I enquired, “So, where did they take her to?”

Directly after the maid gave me an answer, I rushed to the room where Rosangela was being held prisoner. However, my way was barred by two large guards who were posted in front of the room.

“Mind out—I want to enter!” I snapped out an order.

“I’m sorry, Your Highness. We are under orders not to let anyone in,” one of the guards said carefully.

“Who are you to tell me I can’t enter the room?” I stormed.

“Forgive me, Your Highness,” the other guard said shakily, “but His Majesty—”

Before that guard could finish his sentence, I shouldered those guards aside and wrenched the door open.

I was astounded to see Rosangela being tied down to the bed.

“What the blazes have you done to her?” I demanded wrathfully.

“Excuse me, but this is not our fault, Your Highness, we only follow King Joaquin’s order,” one of the guards explained.

I paid no heed at the guard’s words and tried to get to Rosangela, but each of the guards grabbed my arms, trying to restrain me.

I shook off their restraining hands and was about to walk again. But the two guards moved to block my path.

“Get out of my way!” I boomed.

“Pardon me, Your Highness, but you can’t come near her. King Joaquin will skin the both of us alive if His Majesty knows we let you see her,” said another guard, his voice shaking.

“I’m the one who will kill the two of you right here and now if you keep preventing me from seeing her!” I browbeat.

The guards went white as a sheet when they heard my threat.

“Sod off, the pair of you! Now!” I thundered.

Afraid, the guards finally scuttled off. As soon as they disappeared behind the door, I marched over to Rosangela.

Rosangela’s Point of View:

All my futile attempts to break free made me feel so exhausted that I fell asleep. I didn’t know how long I had been sleeping, but suddenly I woke up when I heard a commotion outside. It seemed that some people were arguing with each other, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying. I wanted to see what was happening, however, I was still tied up and gagged, so there’s nothing I could do right now.

No long after that, the door flew open and Prince Xavier rushed in. Two guards who were posted in front of this room ran after him.

Xavier seemed aghast to see me lying spreadeagled on the bed with my hands and feet were trussed up and my mouth was gagged. But I was certain that he was only putting on an act.

Xavier tried to approach me, but the guards held him back. The three of them then began arguing again. Only after the vampire prince threatened to finish them off, the guards finally fled from this room in terror.

Immediately those guards had left, Xavier hurried over to me and removed the gag from my mouth.

“Rosangela, are you OK? Did they hurt you?” he questioned me anxiously.

Instead of answering him, I asked him back ungraciously, “What are you doing here?”

Xavier replied, “I’m here to help you, Rosangela.”

“I don’t need your help,” I said spitefully.

Xavier wore a puzzled look on his face. “What’s the matter with you, Rosangela? Why are you suddeny behaving like this to me?”

“I am like this because I’m disappointed in you, Xavier,” I retorted, “I really thought I could trust you. But why did you tell your father my secret instead?”

“What are you talking about? I did no such thing!” he denied it.

“Liar!” I roared, “I knew you have ratted on me to your father. If it weren’t for you who had blabbed to your father, he wouldn’t have penned me up in this room now.” Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“No, Rosangela, I didn’t tell my father, honestly!” he still didn’t want to admit it.

“Do you really expect me to believe you?” I sneered, “I can see through your little game, Xavier. I know you deliberately persuaded me to stay here longer so that you can reveal my secret to your father, and after that, the two of you will use me as bait to trap my grandfather, right?”

“I swear I have never breathed a word of this to my father or anyone else. You have to trust me, Rosangela. I myself am surprised to know that my father has incarcerated you here. That’s why I came to rescue you now,” Xavier tried to convince me.

“That’s enough, Xavier! I’m sick and tired of hearing your lies. Just shove off and leave me alone!” I said testily.

“But Rosangela—”

“I said leave me alone, Xavier! Now!” I bellowed, cutting him off.

Prince Xavier took a sharp intake of breath. “Fine. I’ll leave you alone for now. But I promise I am going to be back here later to help you get out of this place, Rosangela.”

I turned my head away, refusing to meet his gaze.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Xavier turning around, and lastly, he stomped out of this room, shutting the door after him.

‘You should have accepted Xavier’s offer of help, Rosanne,’ my conscience chastised me.

‘Oh, use your head! How can you expect me to accept his offer of help after he betrayed my trust?’ I scoffed.

‘Can’t you stop being so stubborn? If you hadn’t refused Xavier’s offer of help, you would have gotten out of this place by now, you know,’ my conscience said, annoyed.

‘Do shut up!’ I snarled at her, ‘I know exactly what I am doing. I’m sure I can get out of here without Xavier’s help.’

‘It’s no use talking with you,’ My conscience sighed and then she went off to sulk in the back of my mind.

‘I have to get the hell out of here soon. But how can I do it when I’m bound and gagged like this?’ In spite of myself, tears welled up in my eyes.

“Dad, help me!” I sobbed.

Third Person’s Point of View:

At the same time in the Bloodrose Pack...

“Rosanne!!!” Donovan Granville aka Ivan Wolfgang yelled as he woke up from his fitful sleep soaked with sweat.

He soon looked around his surroundings and was relieved to see he was still in his bedroom.

“Thankfully, it’s just a nightmare!” he said with a sigh of relief.

The dream was very frightening. In Donovan’s dream, he watched his daughter being tortured by some evil vampires. Rosangela begged him for help, but he was unable to save her.

“Where are you, My Daughter? Are you all right?” I wondered aloud.

All of a sudden, someone hammered at his bedroom door.

“Wait a second!” Donovan sprang out of bed and made haste to answer the door. As he swung the door open, he found Borris, one of the omegas in his pack, standing in front of the room.

“What’s going on, Borris?” I inquired in mystification.

“I have a good news, Beta Ivan. Randolph has just regained consciousness,” answered Borris.

“Really?” I queried in disbelief.

The Omega nodded his head. “That’s true! Alpha Wolfgang was the one who asked me to pick you up because Randolph wanted to talk to you.”

“OK, Let’s go there now!” Donovan said enthusiastically.

At last, Donovan and Borris ran as fast as they could towards the pack infirmary where Randolph was being hospitalized for the past few days.

‘Wait for me, Rosanne! I’m coming!’ I thought.
