Dawn of the Dark

The following is a transcript of a log received by Sanctuary Command. The log is recorded by Logistics Commander Amanda Ferras, during the delivery of supplies to the ruins of Aranei.

Day One

Amanda adjusts the recording device and begins recording the log.

"A slow first day, a bunch of Deer Fiends tried to attack the truck, but the Crystalliam Knights dealt with them swiftly. It's so dark out here, it creeps me out. This is a reminder to ask for higher powered lights on the trucks. Day Two

The hum of the truck can be heard in the background, the log seems to be recorded in the bunk room.

"We ran into a bunch of Araneian's today, some were headed for Sanctuary, while others were heading toward Terrana. We gifted them some supplies. I asked them why they left the safety of Aranei, but they didn't answer. I hope the city is okay. Log over" Amanda said, she finished recording.

Day Three

"We're about halfway to Aranei now, we passed the quarry overnight, one of the Knights who was driving the night shift swore he saw a group of people running alongside the truck overnight, said they had red eyes. Creepy" Amanda said, before sighing. "This darkness is driving us crazy, it feels as if it's seeping into your soul" She said, before swiftly turning off the camera.

Day Four

"Not much to record today, quiet day" Amanda shrugged, as she ended the log.

Day Five

Amanda seems to be hidden away in her cabin, she appears frightened.

"I saw them, the people in the shadows" Amanda whispered. "There were so many of them" She added, before stopping. A bang is heard in the distance, Amanda ends the log.

Day Six

The recording device is pointed out of the front windscreen of the truck, figures appear to be standing in front of the motionless truck.

"They've broken the engine somehow" Amanda sighed.

"If anyone recieves this, send assistance immediately" One of the Knights said. As he spoke, the figures backed away.

"Can't get a signal to send" Amanda sighed.

The log ends abruptly.

Day Seven

Nothing can be seen through the recording device, but footsteps can be heard.

"They're Araneians" Amanda sighed. "We reached the city, and there were so many of them. The aether, it must have turned them into fiends, like it did with the animals. It's probably why I've been feeling so depressed out here, they killed the Crystalliam Knights, I'm running as fast as I can back to the city, but it is so far away" She explained. The log ends abruptly once more.

Day Eight

The view from the recording device is still pitch black.

"I don't know how far I am from the city, but I made it to an old communications' outpost, I'm praying this message reaches Sanctuary, I'm going to upload the whole log, please send help, I don't want to die out here" Amanda cried.

The log ends here. Recommend sending a hunter team out ASAP to the Renais Communications' Outpost.
