Chapter 4 Can’t You Take It Anymore?
Carlos stared at the girl sitting alone in the falling snow with cold eyes.
Seeing Anna still waiting, Pier finally felt a little pleasure of revenge, “She’s been waiting from morning until now. How is it? Has the hatred in your heart been released a little bit?”
Carlos continued to shake the red wine in his hand with an indifferent expression. The weak figure was still sitting in the snow, and she was about to become a snowman in the wind
and snow.
Suddenly, Carlos’s eyes widened slightly.
He saw Anna holding snow and stuffing it into her mouth.

“Okay,” Anna said in a hoarse voice. She hung up the phone, stood up, and flicked the snow off her clothes. Just as she raised her eyes slightly, she suddenly met Carlos’s eyes. She just silently looked away and walked to the table that Pier had mentioned.
Regardless of what would happen in the future, it was always better than going back to the dark prison, or to her biological father who would only bring her pain. She gathered her dry and frizzy hair a little bit, and each one of them was showing her pain of these years. She buried them in her neck so that at least she could block some of the surrounding chills.
Back in the hall, the warmth rushed over, and Anna felt a little dizzy being warmed up. He saw Carlos’s cold face and quickly shook her head. After some searching, she finally saw table three where Raul turned his back to her direction. Without hesitation, she walked towards the table.
She somehow felt strange. Raul seemed to have gained a lot of weight and he didn’t look like the man she had seen three years ago. When she got closer, she looked sideways and found that even his face had changed. Before she could say hello, a woman suddenly rushed in from the main entrance and slapped Anna hard in the face.
“Bitch! Slut! How dare you seduce my husband?! I’ve finally caught you today!”

slapped Anna with all her strength and Anna could barely stand up. She sat in a daze with her eyes downcast. She pitifully caressed her aching cheek with clear fingerprints with her cold hand.
There were more and more people gathering around, and someone recognized Anna, “Hey! Isn’t she the famous Miss Anna Perkins in Yilia City?”
“Really? How could it be like this?”
“Well, she was always arrogant and domineering. It’s retribution.”
Yes, it was retribution indeed. Fate never took pity on anyone.
Anna stood up unsteadily, and wanted to leave the scene after standing still, but was grabbed by the onlookers.

The snow was slippery. She fell heavily on the ground, and her jaw hit the cold ground. She clenched her teeth tightly, and tears welled up in her eyes.

She struggled to stand up, fixed her gaze on the shadow above her head, and found that it was Carlos.
He was holding an umbrella. His eyes were dark and cold. “Why, can’t you take it anymore?”
