Chapter 7 I Won’t Be A Drag on Anyone 

Anna couldn’t say no to the request, even though she knew what she was about to face. But she needed to use Raul to stay in Yilia City with peace of mind. 

The onlookers had already opened the wine bottle, and the pungent smell of wine diffused along the warm air in the private room and floated into Anna’s nose. Under Raul’s instruction, someone handed the wine bottle to Anna. She hesitated for a second before taking it. There was another commotion in the private room. 

“Drink! Drink! Drink!” They were laughing and booing. Raul raised his chin slightly, signaling her to drink it quickly. Anna didn’t have fear and panic because she was quickly accustomed to boundless darkness and torture. She glanced slightly in the direction of Carlos and Pier, who were still fiddling with their phones, ignoring what was happening to her. Pier was waiting for her to make a fool of herself. To him, this was an exciting drama in which the villain was manipulated and punished. 

“Drink it!” Raul urged. 

Anna stopped looking in that direction, raised her head, and took a big sip from the bottle. The spicy liquid slipped through her mouth and rushed straight into her stomach. Suddenly, a ball of flames rushed straight into Anna’s throat. She immediately coughed, and her face was completely flushed red from holding her breath. 

“Oh! I didn’t expect it! Mr. Rubin, this woman is a tough one!”

Someone sneered with an undisguised disrespect in his tone. 

Raul was dissatisfied with Anna’s performance. He looked down at Anna and said, “Drink it in one gulp! Don’t spoil the 

fun!” 

Anna looked at the wine bottle in her hand. She had tried her best just now, but she only took two sips. If she drank any more, her stomach would be ruined. While she was dizzy, she unconsciously looked in that direction again, hoping that their coldness would wake her up for a while. At least, it would make the discomfort in her throat less intense. Then she raised the wine bottle again and poured down the rest of the wine with her head raised. 

This time, her fragility overwhelmed her. When the wine bottle was empty, she fell to the ground as if she had been hollowed out. The liquid she had just drunk was coughed out, passing through her mouth and nose, and finally turning into tears. She coughed vigorously until she saw stars. But when she looked up, she caught a glimmering look. 

She probably misunderstood. She shook her head, then, lowered her head and coughed again. Her neckline and cuffs were full of wine she had coughed out. Her stomach was churning, her hair was soaked in sweat, and strands of hair limply stuck to her cheeks. Coupled with the loud cheers in the private room and the gradually rising temperature, she only felt like she was walking beside a volcano that was about to erupt, and she felt extremely hot from the inside out. 

Raul didn’t care about how embarrassed and sick Anna was. He laughed wildly and pulled her up, letting her sway to the music in his arms. room.

“Whether he marries me or not in the end, I won’t bother you anymore.” She wasn’t lying, and she didn’t bother to lie. Carlos was tired of her and avoiding her, so he should consider this. So she simply said it for him. 

The sudden phone call broke the silence between the two. It was Raul. He told Anna to go back quickly because he had lost the game again. His voice was a bit loud on the other end of the phone, and it was harsh in the outer hall without the hustle and bustle. 

“They want to punish you! But don’t worry. It’s not drinking this time.” Raul said. 

Carlos heard it.
