What the hell was wrong with him? He hadn’t stopped walking out on me all day. First in his mother room and now here in my test. I was perfectly fine and he knew it. Was it something to do with the kiss? Was it to do with his mistrust for me. I stood in the hall for a long time just thinking what just went down. It wasn’t until my stomach gurgled that I moved.

I walked over and picked Zev’s swords and I placed them where he got them. I placed mine there as well. Afterwards I headed to the hall to eat something. I normally wouldn’t be hungry as I ate lashings of meat when I was with my family but I was and I thought about the stress of the day since I got back here. It was about two days since Danni reappeared. I had lost track of time to be honest and so didn’t exactly know but it felt like weeks. If didn’t feel like yesterday that Zev had kissed me. It didn’t feel like it was evening already. People skipped around me questioning my absent mind. I was still confused about Danni, though less so than Zev. I didn’t understand what was going on with him.

I got some food when I entered the dining hall and then I sat down. I picked at a piece of beef medium rare. It was more of a slab than a piece. I sighed and I looked around. Everyone seems un aware about the troubles. Sure they knew about danni but they didn’t know the full story. When I noticed people were pointing an whispering I groaned. They were suspicious of me or they knew of the kiss. Had it gotten around that I was a betrayer and that I shouldn’t be such a seductress. I didn’t even try. I was my self and people came after me. I didn’t try to attract people and most of the time I was not fully functional. That is when it hit me.

I got up leaving my food forgetting my hunger and I ran back to the dungeons. I ran past the guard faster than he could think. I ran down the hall with him calling after me. I got to the bars and Danni looked up. He smiled instantly.

“Back for more?” He questioned.

“How did you do it?” I retorted. “How did you get past it all?” he shrugged. “Tell me Danni”

“Sweetie, you might be good at being seductive but you are oblivious to the seduction of others.”

“You drugged me didn’t you, in my drink? You bought me a few got me tipsy and drugged them. You drugged them so I knew what I was doing but I forgot almost instantly. I only remembered long enough to do your bidding. I then proceeded to forget but the plan was still there written into my brain and so I did your bidding with out even knowing.” he got up and walked over stroking my hand when he got there.

“Bingo baby” he whispered. I stepped back pulling my hand away from his touch.

“You’re sick” I stated. He just grinned. It wasn’t a nice grin either.

“Katsi?!” I head someone asked.

“Oh look Katsi, lover boy is here, he has come looking for his lady, to terrified to lose you to a man like me” he said. There was a taunting tone to it.

“Shut up, you know nothing” I spat.

“I know more than you” He said before I was pulled into someone’s arms.

“Don’t ever do that again” they whispered. I looked up and saw Zev. I frowned.

“Do what?” I questioned. He locked eyes with me and smiled.

“Nothing, just be careful, why are you down here anyway?” he asked curious. I smiled.

“Trying to get some answers. I got some. He drugged me. He drugged me so I would plan certain things and forget it afterwards but retain the information so I would do things with out knowing, like I planned them on my own as a day to day thing. The plant is called Forget-less. It is quite rare but powerful. Used in the right way people forget things but retain it. Just like me. I thought about it when I was eating. Some thing came to me and I thought, I only forget things when I drink. But I haven’t been drinking for over 5 years. Since the time Danni drugged me.” Zev eyes hardened when said this. He was angry. He cared and he was angry. What had changed? Was it just because is was Danni or was there something else.

Danni said lover boy. What did that mean? As I thought over it other thoughts pushed in. My sisters and family and a cheetah shifter. My eye widened and I looked at Danni.

“The cheetah, what was his name?” I asked fast. Danni smiled but didn’t answer. Zev still clung to me and refused to let me go. “Tell me” I ordered.

He smiled. He just stood there in a lay stance and smiled. He knew the name but refused to tell me. That’s when I knew

“It was Kieran, wasn’t it?” I questioned him. “He was already part of the guard and so it was easy for you to use him, just manipulate him and you would get information on Zev. Where he was, what he was doing, but decided to rape me.” Danni’s eye twinkled. I couldn’t believe his nerve. “I hope he is lying in a ditch some where, cold alone and helpless” Danni chuckled a little.

“He is somewhere enjoying what he has done” Danni said softly.

“What do you mean?” I asked. Zev grip got tighter around my waist but I didn’t take much notice.

“You will find when they tell you” I frowned deeper.

“Tell me Danni” I demanded. He looked up at me and smiled a half smile. He brought his hand to his face. He moved his index finger to indicate me to move closer. I tried to pull out of Zev he refused.

“You can tell her where she is” Zev seethed. I looked at him and smiled.

“I’ll be fine” I whispered. He looked at me but his grip loosened. I pulled away from Zev and I walked up to the bars. I stood in front of them and as soon as I did Danni had my hand in his and I was pulled against the bars. My cheek squashed against the metal. It was cold. My eyes loked toward Zev. He wanted to pull me away but he saw that I was fine. So refrained.

Danni leaned in close to me and I felt his breath on my ear. He gave a snuff of a laugh and I knew he was smiling.

“Kieran took a nice interest in your sister, apparently she didn’t like him and so he lost his temper. I hope she survived.” he caught my ear with his lips and kissed me there. When he pulled away I smiled inwardly. I span my hand out his grip and caught his instead. I put my thumb on his palm and pushed his hand backward until I felt a crack. Danni started to whimper in pain. I kept pushing until I heard a pop and Danni let out a small cry.

“That isn’t even half the pain that you deserve” I spat at him. I let go and stepped back. I looked at Zev and he nodded. He understood that I wanted to leave. I needed to leave before I killed the man. We walked away leaving Danni whimpering in pain. When Zev and I got to the top we halted. Zev didn’t say anything and he was being rather nice about everything.

“Are you okay?” He finally asked. I didn’t say anything or do anything. I just stood there trying to process the information. Kieran had a hurt my sister. Danni had hurt me.

“I just want to lay down” I whispered. Zev nodded and took me under the elbow to help me along.

“What did he say to you?” Zev asked me. I didn’t say anything, I just kept walking. “Was it to do with Kieran?” He asked me. I made a groan sound and he took it as a yes. “Is Tempy involved?” this time I nodded and I stopped walking. I hung my head and I wiped away a stray tear. I was not going to start cry. I tried to tell my self but as Zev lifted my head with one finger under my chin another tear left. He wiped it away and smiled.

“We will punish them, okay? They will spend the rest of their lives locked away.” I scoffed and Zev frowned.

“They deserve to be tortured and punished severely. What they have done, locking them away is too light of a punishment.” Zev sighed at my words.

“But we aren’t heartless Kat. We don’t resort to things like that. Revenge might be sweet but it isn’t the right way to go about things.” He took me in his arms and we just stood there as I sobbed. Why he was caring so much I didn’t know but when I looked up I had to wipe my eyes to stop the murky sight. He looked so bright with all the tears in the way.

Soon he pulled away and he took my hand. He led me along the corridors and we ended up at my room. He pulled me inside and closed the door. He pulled me over to the bed and sat me down.

“Do you want to talk?” He asked. I stayed silent for a little bit and then I looked at Zev.

“I’m guilty” I said. “I helped in the killing of an innocent man, I got my sister in trouble. I helped a man escape the guard, I’m so guilty. My sister was hurt because of me. Danni is here because of me.” I murmured. Zev sighed harshly. He hugged me and pulled me back. We were then laying and nothing else. I curled into Zev and he didn’t say anything or pull away. Something had changed and I knew that but at this point I didn’t care

“You’re not guilty.” Zev finally whispered. “You didn’t know so how could you choose. You were drugged and so you wouldn’t know. Don’t dwell on it. Tempy is healing slowly as Lilith is back. So everything is okay. If I killed a man that was disguised as Danni then he must have been in league with him. I will bring Kieran in and they shall both be put to trial and my mother will decide their fate.” I nodded trying to believe him.

I sat up and looked at him. His hair fell over his face and his muscles looked tense. “What has changed Zev?” I blurted out. I instantly slapped my self. Why did I asked that?

“What do you mean?” He asked me.

“Since the test you have changed. You are gentler, you are caring about things and you aren’t being so cold. What changed?” I explained. He sighed and sat up. He took my hand and smiled at me. “You shine. That is what has changed” He then left. I blinked confused. I shine. I looked at my hands and shook my head. I did anything but shine. I collapsed back on the bed and closed my eyes. Such a stressful day.
