Chapter 13- Facade

At night, I fall asleep easily, not opening my eyes once. At school I head to the counselors office to see any updates on the schedule change. He tells me he was able to do it and it changed some of my classes. I didn't mind, He told me that I start my new schedule tomorrow. What a relief, now I don't have to make random conversations with annoying people nearby her to blend in! I also won't have to worry about them following me and want to hang out all the time! It's annoying and distracting, the first day she gets here she's almost kidnapped! I took my eye off her for one second! Then she's dumb as a rock, so that just makes this babysittting more of a pain in the ass! Ugh...why is she coming over here? I can't stand her! I'll pretend to be sleeping, maybe she'll get the hint or just walk away! I turn my head to the side and close my eyes. I can smell the thick stench of Rose's perfume, argh! My nose burns! Soon as I hear the faint sound of clicking heels. Relief washes over me, I hate Rose she infuriates me! All she does is act as a reminder that I'm bonded! I hate this! I can't act on anything! I can't check out any girls! I can't sleep with any of them! Or hell! Even date one! The bonding spell is used to keep a warlock and witch together, in a sense it's like mariage. Since she's human the spell doesn't have full affect on her like it does on me. She can date and do whatever the hell she pleases! But as soon as I think of kissing a girl or even try, I would walk away or pull away even if I did like the girl! The bell finally rings, and I head to my locker to grab shit. I slam the locker door and spot a guy near Hannah. There's people around so they can't be clan members. Clan members play it safe and wait till no is around to operate.

Hannah's POV,

"Hey baby." The guy from behind me wraps his hands around my waist.

"I wasn't with you." I say back, while looking at the crowd in the corner of my eye.

"Then who were you with?" He laughs. I can hear snickers and comments being said. It doesn't

look for good me right now, I genuinely don't know who this guy is!

"With me." Everyone turns to the attention of the voice. Ian! What are you doing! He stands there with a cocky stance walking up to him. The guy's smile disappears.

"You? What the fuck were you doing with my girl!" Great! Now I look like a whore!

"What do you think?" The guy clenches his fist. Argh! What the hell! Are you sticking up for me? Or screwing me even more!

"Ian! You son of a bitch! I'm going to kick your ass!" Ian cocks his head to the side and gives a bored expression.

"You don't have the balls." He says boldly.

"You don't think I can!" Ian steps close to him. What is he doing?

"Come on then, hit me." AHHHH! Ian what the hell! I don't want to get hurt! The guy stands there frozen. "Come on." He taunts again. The guy does nothing, Ian raises his fist up and holds it high. The guy flinches. "See, I'm a guy who WILL kick your ass to show everyone here what a pussy looks like." The guy walks away in shame and in fury. When the crowd disperse I confront Ian.

"You didn't have to go that far." I kinda don't know whether to thank him or not.

"Tsk, I wasn't sticking up for you dumbass." He laughs.

"Then why did you step in?" I cross my arms glancing my head towards him.

"Because you gave me the perfect opportunity to kick his ass." He shot back, waiting for my next response. I look down and hold my left arm.

"Wow, you really you think I cared about your dumbass?" He starts laughing. I'm sorry I thought you were a decent enough person! To-! Argh! He's such an ass!

"No! I just thought you would actually have a heart! But now I see your nothing but a cold, arrogant, and selfish asshole!" I walk off to the parking lot and stand there fuming. It doesn't help that I hate my dad's guts right now!

"Hannah? Is everything okay?" That's when I could hear smoke coming out of my ears.

"Oh yeah, everything is great! I've been humiliated twice! By, guess what the guy that I'm linked to! That you've never mentioned! I'm being targeted all the time for whatever reason! And on top of that none of my friends know about this because if they did they would be dead! So I'm great dad! Thanks for asking!" I storm out of the car and slam the door to my room. I have a good cry to let everything out. I feel so stupid! He's been nothing but a jerk this whole time I've known him! So why would he stick up for me! I just thought for a second that I have someone looking out for me. He used me...and I was stupid enough to let him! My iPad starts vibrating, I hold it up and see Justin is face timing me. I let the call ring out till it declines itself. How am I going to explain the missed facetime now? He's always checking up on me and he already saw the scar on my forearm. For sure he'll start questioning me. I head to bed early, since I cried so much. I take out the sleeping pills that I've started taking. I found them in one of the boxes when I was unpacking. They really help, I wasn't able to sleep for a whole day. Every time I close my eyes I see them, the guy in a hoodie and the guys from the party. I've never seen any of their faces. The guy in the hoodie is covered while the others have a creepy grin smeared on their face. I sleep soundly and wake up refreshed. Things are very tense with me and my dad. We don't talk to each other. Well, I don't talk to him. I try not to argue with him. But how can't I! Nobody is telling me what the fuck is going on! I head to my homeroom and see Ian in one of the seats. I rub my eyes, and still see him there! I walk up to him, "What are you doing here?" People start shuffling one by one. Ian's seat is in a corner away from the crowd in front.
