Chapter 16- Unusual Circumstances

At school I keep getting the feeling that people are looking at me. Everytime I turn around, people are doing their own thing. In class I can hear people whispering shit about me.

Ian Pov,

Looks like she made a friend, it's her first year here and she's already managed to be the talk of the school. In my homeroom, every guy keeps coming to me about Hannah. Hell if I know! What makes these idiots think that they can talk to me now? Unless the rumor is something with me? Argh! When will these idiots learn? I go up to the first guy I see. "Hey." The guy turns stiff.

"Y-yeah?"

"What's this rumor everyone is going on about?" I demand.

"Uh...well the rumor is that Hannah cheated on you." My hands clench.

"B-but I don't believe it Ian." He pleads. I storm off, where the hell is she! I find Rose by her locker fixing her hair and makeup. When everyone is gone, I walk up to her.

"Ian?" She turns around to face me. "So...what are you doing here?" She asks seductively.

"Don't play dumb bitch!" I yell back.

"Is something wrong?" She asks innocently.

"Keep my name out of your fucking mouth!" I warn.

"Or what? Ian." She moves in close to me. "What are you going to do?" I can't help but allow my eyes to trail all over her body. By the looks of it she's enjoying it, She slides her hand down to my crotch. I let out a soft moan, but before it can linger there I yank it off. Fuck! If I wasn't bonded I would've fucked her right there. She gives me a mischievous smile, knowing that she got a moan out of me. She whispers in my ear, "When you're done toying with her, come find me." She shoves a sheet of paper in my hand, that I assume to be her phone number and walks off giving me a wink from behind. I let a long sigh, I hate you Hannah... the next day Hannah comes storming up to me.

"You fucking bastard!" I sigh.

"I didn't start the rumor."

"You might as well have!" She spat. "Why did you have to say that?" She sounds frustrated? Why are you frustrated? You're not held against your will and thoughts everyday!

"Tsk, you're blaming me? You're the one who started flirting with him in the first place!" I can see faces turning our direction.

"I didn't flirt with him!" The chatter around us gets quieter.

"Bullshit! Then why would he say you did?"

"I don't know!" She throws her hands up. I begin to read her thoughts, she's being honest she doesn't know him. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my chest, damn it! I shouldn't feel relieved or anything!

"Well, what do you expect me to do?" I don't think she's noticed that people are watching us.

"Tell them the truth." She demands.

"What truth?" I smirk.

"YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN IAN!" Hmm? I could either end this rumor or play along with it? But if I play along with it it'll piss her off.

"That you didn't cheat on me?"

"Yeah, and.."

"And...were still together?"

"What? No! The whole truth!" I can't help but smirk. I tilt my head at her and give her a wide smile.

"Gorgeous? What more do you want me to say?" She looks around and notices the audience we've seem to have gathered. Her face turns a deep shade of red. This is priceless!

"I-Ian c-cut it out!" She's flustered eh? Interesting...

"You're so cute when you get flustered." I bore my eyes onto her, she looks away. I'm having too much fun with this.

Hannah Pov,

Everyone is gawking at us! What do I do? It doesn't help that my face is all red! The way he said that just caught me off guard, very off guard... My heart stopped for a brief moment. I couldn't even speak! It's like he predicted this or something! UGH! I fell for it again! Then the second time, my heart was pounding. I can't look at him! Why can't I look at him? He's just an annoying, arrogant, selfish, hot, boy that's infuriating. Hot? Did I just say he was hot! I probably meant hot headed! That's it there's no way! No way at all, although I'm starting to realize Ian is an attractive guy. But that doesn't mean anything! I could say he's attractive without meaning anything! At lunch I sit with Violet and Rose, and of course she has something to say to me today.

"So, who was it? Don't tell me it was Adam again?"

"Rose do everyone a favor and shut the hell up."

"How could I forget!" I spat sarcastically. He walks beside me, it's blazing out here! I can feel the sweat dripping down my back. The wind blows briefly, not blowing enough cold air to cool me down. We're in the parking lot now, still with the sun beating on us.

"You want me to drive you home?" He asks out of nowhere. That's nice of him? Odd...

"No, it's the last place I wanna be." He sighs.

"Look, I'm not standing out here in this heat any longer!" Oh, it was for his sake not mine. I should know better by now!

"Can't you just do a spell to make yourself cold or something?" I roll my eyes.

"If I could! I would've by now!" Geez, he's getting crabbier. Maybe it's the sun? He walks off farther in the parking lot.

"Hey you're supposed to keep tabs on me or whatever!" I yell back.

"Then follow me dumbass!" He yells back.

"No, why would I?" I cross my arms. He walks back to me.

"You know I can make you follow me with a spell right?" I gulp. "You can follow me willingly or unwillingly. The choice is yours." I huff and begin walking farther than him.

"Where are we even walking to anyway?"

"What do you think, we're in a parking lot filled with cars." He says in a patronizing voice.

"It was just a question!"

"A dumb one." He stops at a car, pulls his keys out and slips in the front. I follow him inside and sit in the front with him. He slams the door as I close mine. I put on my seatbelt and wait for the AC to turn on. I lean my face into it, and sigh. Once we're on the road, I have enough courage to ask him.

"Where are we going?"

"My house." He brushes off. Why do I feel weird all of a sudden?

"Ian?"

"Yeah?" His voice is monotone. When isn't it?

"This whole guarding thing, how does it work?" He's silent. "I mean...how are you protecting me?" He sighs.

"By knowing where you're at. That way I can tell when there's a threat."

"So...you can't tell me why I'm being hunted I"m assuming?"

"Tsk, do you really wanna know why?" He smirks. He's got a point...

"How long have you known?" His hands clench the steering wheel.

"Known what?"

"About us being bonded?"

"Since the beginning."

"Beginning of..what?"

"Since the beginning we were bonded."

"When were we bonded?" He clenches the wheel tighter as his jaw clenches.

"Why do you ask so many questions?"

"Don't I have the right to ask questions?" I argue back.

"No! No you don't." He spat. Ian pulls up to a medium sized house. He gets off the truck and slams the door shut. He's so easily pissed off! I wander around the entrance admiring the fountains. I hear Ian sigh with annoyance, geez I can't even admire the house! A servant opens the door. Ian is rich!

"You have a butler!"

"Housekeeper." He spat. Oh...I keep my mouth shut after that. Some part of me thought he was inviting me over to hang out. Obviously he's not Hannah! Damn it! I can't keep doing this to myself! It's a very beautiful house, I stare in awe at the decor and stop at a railing. I smove my hand over it. It's all so beautiful, yet eerily familiar? "Han!" He stands there annoyed. I guess he wants me to follow him still. He walks up the stairs with me following him behind. He turns a corner down a hallway.

"Wait!" I call out. He stands there stiffly as if he's caught doing something wrong. He walks ahead faster, as if he's making me hurry on purpose. Finally I reach his pace and we enter a room. He locks the door behind him. I look around the room, admiring all the things that are placed around. A sigh of relief is let out by Ian, I glance at him curiously.
