Angie, an assistant apothecary who's no stranger to hard work, finds herself facing a very different set of challenges when she's forced to run for her life after a dangerous magical artefact known only as 'the Orb' falls into her possession. Along the way she'll need to call on every last ounce of her wit and cunning to outfox her pursuers, as well as learn to put her faith in others - Robert, a bookbinders apprentice who has the ability to read the past of an object by touching it, and Keliashyrr, a curious girl who may just be crucial in unlocking the secret of the Orb.
