Handing myself over seemed simple enough. Alexis wasn’t there and I expected she was probably upset with the knowledge that I was a con artist. I pretended to be her friend, only for Tiffany. If that hadn’t happened, our friendship would have been authentic. It had to have been a big pill to swallow that I wasn’t sincere.

Tiffany wasn’t easy on me though. She bind my wrists together to make sure nothing happened that was unexpected. It probably filled her controlling attribute. Amelia and Anastasia didn’t say or do anything to me, unlike Tiffany. Who seemed to be talking up a big game. If I opened my mouth to the uneven lies she was saying, the sisters were sure to turn on her in question. I didn’t need that type of attention right now. Too helpless to even want to fight back.

“Must suck not even getting a call back from Tony. You must really not mean anything to him.” Tiffany kept commenting from the passenger seat, as Anastasia was driving down the busy highway. Amelia was just browsing through her phone. Paying no attention to us.

“Maybe he never liked you in the first place. So sad.” She continued to use a facetious tone. “He probably tried to use you as a distraction. Since he needed something to keep him busy while he was in town all by himself.”

I stared outside through the car window as her words made my ears start to ring. Even if I knew what she was saying wasn’t true, I needed to act as if her lackluster comments were bothering me.

“Better yet. Him running away, leaving you defenseless.” She paused and turned to me. “Unless you’re lying.” Her voice intensified. I turned to her with a depressed expression. Amelia finally glanced up.

I just rolled my eyes and continued to mope in my seatbelt. Trying to play affected by a make-believe story of Tony leaving me helpless and not responding back.

“What if I call him right now? What if I tell him I have you? Probably apart of your plan I’m sure.”

I finally turned to her and spoke.

“He probably won’t answer you either. Be my guest though.” I turned my head back to the window in a sassy manner.

“You know what. I won’t call him. Not until you’re in safe keeping. To make sure he doesn’t attack us in a weak spot.”

“Fair enough.” My motionless voice almost fooled me.

I fed into the despair of what could. Though Tony was probably curious in what was going on. I’m sure he was smart enough to figure out something is wrong if they don’t show up to the school before midnight. I can imagine him feeling helpless knowing I didn’t follow his plan. Which broke me a little to think he might be upset or heart broken. Especially since these sisters weren’t merciful.

“Actually, I’ll try calling him.”

Tiffany changed her mind so quickly. I could tell she didn’t want to go with someone else’s plan. She really believed we were acting to a plan. Trying to combat it in her favor. Even though this decision was my own. Tony would have been in this seat instead of me if we went with his plan.

Tiffany brings the phone to her ear. She waits a while and when he answered her body shifted confidently into her seat.

“Well, if it isn’t the lost boy.” She says to the phone. Giving me no eye contact. “If you didn’t know, we have your girlfriend. She’s quite sad that you didn’t answer her phone call.”

She pauses as she’s listening to the phone.

“Oh. You don’t care, huh. Well then, I’m sure I could just kill her and call it a day. Right?” She paused again. Her comment confirmed that she was pulling a sly prank. Which I had to pretend it didn’t both me. Until she tried to hand me the phone.

“Here, it’s your ex. He needs to talk to you.”

My eyes lit up. I didn’t expect this. Not only that, by my hands were behind my back. Leaving Amelia to grab it and shove it to my ear.

“Hello?” I try to act unimpressed.

“This isn’t your stupid boyfriend. I’m offended by your dishonesty. Better believe we’re going to have a fun time with you. Once you’ve arrived to your final destination, be prepared for the torture you deserve.” Alexis’ voice sounded deep and dark. Nothing worried me, until now. Hearing her voice instead of Tony’s left me anxious.

I couldn’t say anything. Even though I didn’t want to, I did feel horrible for lying to her. At the same time, it wouldn’t have been possible without Tiffany. I could tell her the truth. At the same time, I just couldn’t get myself to say a simple word. Not even, sorry. It all didn’t seem worth it. Fighting it didn’t seem worth it. I decided my own decisions and I deserved what ever came along with it.

Amelia took the phone away from my ear and gave it back to Tiffany. Then proceeding back to her own phone for entertainment. My depressed nature and unwilling to feed into the words of Tiffany seemed to make Amelia almost uncomfortable. I could almost sense that she knew what I was feeling all to well. “Amelia, maybe you could enlighten Becca about the time that Tony left you behind. Leading you on just to run away without a goodbye. Every call you made, sent to voicemail. Every text, unanswered.” Tiffany drew Amelia into the conversation. Amelia’s expression then matched my fake one. She then turned to me.

“Yeah. He did the same thing to me when he moved here. Sorry you had to see that side to him, too.”

Amelia looked sincerely apologetic and Tiffany looked uncomfortable in her seat. As if that wasn’t the way she wanted the conversation to go. At that moment, Tiffany didn’t seem to want to talk anymore.

“How did you cope?” I asked Amelia quietly. Trying to create a false bond between us.

“Killing, eating people. I suppose. Honestly, I’m still not over it. It hurts to know he easily moved on so quickly. Also to be sitting next to the girl he went after. You haven’t felt that part, yet.” Her mood switched into anger. “So, if I were you, I would stop talking.”

I firmly pressed my lips together, as if they were mentally zipped shut.

Tiffany’s position in the passenger seat adjusted more comfortably. Being obvious that what she had said rang beautiful through her soul.

The car then turned to a large white mansion on a hill. Almost resembling the White House in DC. Anastasia drove to the attached garage on the side of the house. Pressings the button in a compartment next to the light on the car’s ceiling. It immediately opened up.

There was no going back now. I can imagine this car ride had to have been the least painful thing I would have had to endure. At least until I go inside. Since I have yet to see Alexis.
