She Cried Wolf (OLD)
Part 11

Jackson

After the incident in the woods Micheal, Hayden, Daniel, Jacob, Chelsey, Hunter and Kyle are I are sitting in the living room. Daniel is explaining the process of the royal wolf’s shift. “When a royal wolf shifts it is completely different from a regular wolf. There are of course the normal stages of the normal wolf but the royal wolf-in this case Raja-will be present about two weeks before the first shift. It’s up to the wolf to decide when to make the first pre-shift appearance.”

He looks at me. “I expect it to be really soon. Like in the next few hours-to days. Ashley will be able to communicate with Raja. Once they accept each other Raja will be able to take full control of Ashley even before the shift. Ashley will most likely get angry easily. Raja will want to show her dominance so be careful not to upset her. When and if Raja takes control Ashley can do nothing to stop it. However, she will be able to link with you Jackson. When Raja takes control she will be very unstable. Her actions will be uncharacteristic. She will become the complete opposite of Ashley. Ashley won’t have any wolf qualities yet because she hasn’t shifted. Now the actual shift-” he pauses when he notices Ashley standing in the doorway.

She looks me in the eyes. d. “J-Jackson? C-can I t-talk to y-you?” She shutters and I get up. We walk in silence to my room. “Kitt-” she cuts me off by looking me sharply in the eye. “Why didn’t you tell me?” I freezes. “What do you mean?” her eyes narrow. And her eyes flash. “You know exactly what I mean.” She walks into the bathroom and changes into one of the outfits left in the bag I gave her. “Kitten, I can explain” Jackson’s eyes darken at my outfit. It’s a skirt that’s way shorter than she would ever wear and a crop top. “Kitten. You’re not wearing that” she crosses her arms. “Who says? You lied to me.” I growl not liking the way she is speaking. “I didn’t lie, I just didn’t tell you.” Her eyes flash again before flickering from golden brown to dark brown.

They settle on golden brown and I know her wolf has taken over. “Mate” Raja says before Ashley falls to the ground. I shout for Daniel and he burst into the room seconds later. “You didn’t say this would happen. What’s wrong with her?” he thinks for a moment. “She fought for control. Raja is unstable and wants to show she is the dominant wolf. So she shut the human out. Ashley will wake whenever Raja allows her to. Until then you must watch her and lock the doors. Who knows what Raja will do.” Daniel leaves and I place Ashley on the bed.

After a while I end up falling asleep. When I wake only hours later, Ashley is gone. Her sweet scent of lavender and vanilla is fresh so I know she hasn’t been gone for long. I turn the lamp on to see that my car keys are gone. I bolt out of bed and run through the house calling her name. When I open the front door my car is not in the driveway. At this point Daniel and his guards along with Hunter, Kyle and the girls have wandered out of their rooms. “Ashley is gone.” Daniels eyes flash. “I told you to lock the doors.” he snaps.

“I did! She took my keys!” Suddenly flashing lights and loud music come to mind. The scene leaves before I get a good feel of it. I freeze at the same time Daniel does. I close my eyes and focus. The scene comes back and It’s like I’m there. I watch as a cup is brought to my lips before it’s slammed down on the counter. I snap my eyes back open. “She’s at the bar.” Daniel and I say at the same time.

We jump into motion. Micheal, Hayden, Daniel, Jacob and I Ioad up into their car and drive to the bar. The parking lot is fairly small so it didn’t take long to find my car. A very drunk Ashley stands with her back towards us, and fumbles with the car keys. I growl deeply and she jumps. After she picks up the keys, she turns around to face us. Her eyes are golden brown. “Hello mate” she says. I cross my arms. “Hello Raja, Can I have my mate back please?” She pouts but nods anyway.

I watch as her eyes fade back to dark brown and her posture slouches. She looks around as if confused before her gaze lands on me. She gives what I think is supposed to be a glare, but ends up making me laugh. “I’m still mad at you” she slurs cutely. I turn to face the others. “I’ll meet you at the house” It takes a lot of effort to get Ashley in the car but I manage. She ends up falling asleep on the way home So I carry her inside. Hunter, Kyle, Hannah and Chelsey stand when I walk in. Their worry for their future Luna and Queen is evident. “She’s fine. Just very drunk” they laugh as I carry her to my room.

*******A few hours later********

Ashley is still sleeping when I wake up for my run. I leave water and an aspirin on the nightstand before I head outside. I remove my clothing, close my eyes and let Luce take over. The shift is fast and painless as I have been shifting for years. When I open my eyes, everything is so much clearer. Luce begins walking with his nose to the ground. After a while he pick up on the scent of a rabbit. He takes off in the direction of his prey. He finds the unsuspecting rabbit quickly and crouches down about 20 feet away. At just the right moment he pounces catching the rabbit in one quick motion. After snapping its neck he plops down to eat his snack. Once the tiny creature is gone Luce trots back to the cabin and gives me back control.
