~Shopping~

During the drive to the mall, the girls and I talked. I learned that Chelsey and Hannah both found their mates on their 16th birthdays, which is the youngest possible age to find your mate. I also learned that their little group has been friends since birth. They explained that that’s usually the way it works with higher ranking wolves.

Now, Chelsey and I are shopping for dresses while Hannah grabs some things from A store called Victoria’s Secret. Daniel is sitting In the chair beside the dressing room looking incredibly bored. I’m on my fifth dress and I can feel my anxiety rising from the large number of people. I walk out of the dressing room only to receive another rejected. I sigh and go to head back into the dressing room but spot a beautiful dress hanging on display. I grab it and lock myself back in the dressing room. I tie up the corset on the dress and smooth the skirt. I step back and look into the mirror. I smile for the first time at my reflection. The dress fits perfectly. I step out of the dressing room once more and fidget with my hands nervously. “I-I really like this dress,” I mumble.

“Hun, you’re so getting this dress!” Chelsey squeals. I grin and turn back to the dressing room. It’s only once the dress is off, that I look at the tag. My eyes widen and the price. “I-I can’t get this dress,” I call from the room. “Why not?” Chelsey calls back. “It’s too m-much. I could never afford it.” I exit the room to search for a new dress. “Ashley, wait,” Chelsey calls and I turn back around. “You don’t have to pay for this. Jackson gave me his card and told me to get whatever you want,” I sigh, but am secretly happy because I really like that dress. “Fine,” I give in and Chelsey smiles while Daniel cheers dramatically.

We are now driving back home, as we have finished shopping. I got everything I needed-well, everything the girls thought I needed. Now, I am just ready to get back to my mate.

As soon as we park, I’m out of the car and speed walking into the house. I practically launch myself at Jackson and Raja purrs in contentment. “Well hello there kitten,” he chuckles and I blush, suddenly embraced with my actions.

“Yeah, yeah. Just leave us to carry all the bags in,” Hannah jokes from the door. My heart speeds up briefly before I remember I’m safe and normal people make jokes. Not all jokes are bad. “I’m sorry. I’ll come help,” I mumble before detaching myself from Jackson.

When we finish carrying all the bags in Hannah and Chelsey pull me into Jackson’s room. “So, I picked some things out for you that I know Jackson will love,” Hannah thrusts a black and pink striped bag at me stuffed with tissue paper. I pull out the paper and my cheeks heat at the contents of the bag. Inside are five matching bra and underwear set ranging from lacy to silky.

“Uh-um-wh?” I sputter causing Hannah and Chelsey burst out in laughter. My face erupts in flames. “Thank you?” It comes out as a question that makes the girls laugh more. The sound of the door opening has me scrambling to shove the skimpy pieces of fabric back into the bag. At this the girls attempt to suppress their laughter. Jackson looks confused at my embarrassment and the girls’ amused expressions. As Jackson walks in the girls mates call for them from downstairs.

I stand and grab the bag along with the other bags full of clothes to put them away.

“What was that all about?” Jackson questions. “Um, n-nothing. They were j-just being girls y-you know?” I stutter. He doesn’t look convinced but drops the subject.
