She Cried Wolf (OLD)

I’m sitting on my dirty mattress once again clutching my stomach as it growls angrily. I’ve not eaten for about three days and am weak with hunger. I’m lucky enough to have a small sink in the connecting bathroom to get water. I whimper as the basement door opens and Harry breezes in. His hands are already working on his belt as he stops in front of me. My body simply sags as he removes his clothing and positions himself on top of me. Tears leak from my eyes as he begins to move. “You could at least act like your enjoying yourself, he whispers in my ear before licking my cheek. If I had the energy, I would recoil but I don’t so I just lay there.

My mind goes hazy and time seems to move at an odd pace.

“Oh shit,” someone says from behind us. Harry jumps up just as he gets tackled by a large black wolf. I sit up and curl my legs into myself as I wrap my arms around them, creating a ball. My ears pick up growling sounds but my mind doesn’t register what’s happening. Someone shakes my shoulder and I flinch. A face appears in my line of sight but It becomes blurred.

As soon as Sydney is taken to the cells I gather my warriors. David’s men join in and soon we’re ready to raid the location given. I hardly process the time it takes us to run there because I can only think of Ashley. Hunter kicks down the door of the old house and Lydia and Jake jump up as we enter. Hunter and a few others check the upstairs. Two warriors snap their necks as Kyle makes his way to the basement. He swings the door open before freezing.

“Oh shit,” He says simply. He attempts to block my view but I easily brush past him and my eyes land on two forms in the corner of the room. My body shakes in rage at the sight of the man I once considered Family using my mate to pleasure himself. Harry jumps up and a brief look of panic crosses his face. Before I can stop him Luce is taking control. He shifts and attacks immediately. Harry manages to shift as well and we circle each other.

Harry swipes a paw at me and I dodge it. I growl deeply and bare my teeth at him. I fake an attack on his left side causing him to move right. This allows me to sink my teeth into his side. He whines as I take out a large chunk of skin. He attempts to bite my neck but I move so he only meets air. I manage to maneuver myself on top of him and my teeth find his neck. With one bite I could end his pathetic life but I give him a chance to surrender. When he does I bite down anyway. I wait in satisfaction as the life slowly drains from his body. When I’m sure he’s dead I allow Jackson to have control.

Once I shift back I’m given a pair of pants and a shirt. Daniel sits in front of my mate who stares at his shoulder. She’s curled herself into a ball covering her naked body. I growl and shove Daniel out of the way. Her body has lost a considerably large amount of weight and her chocolate-colored skin is so pale it’s almost white. Her hair hangs in matted clumps and her usually warm brown eyes are dim. Tears streak her dirty cheeks and I lift my hand to wipe them away. Her eyes widen and she goes to scoot away. I sit on my knees and gently touch her cheek. She starts to flinch but stops when the sparks ignite. She presses her face into my hand and closes her eyes.

“Kitten, I’m going to put this shirt on you okay?” I tell her softly before shifting her body gently. I can tell just by looking at her that she’s lost a lot of weight. I bite back a growl at the red marks on her neck and arms. Once I put the shirt on her I gently lift her into my arms easily. Her body is shaking and she rests her head on my shoulder. I ignore everyone in the room as I walk her out. Luckily I had another pack member drive a

Car down just in case. Once we get loaded up Ashley refuses to sit anywhere but on my lap. I decide not to fight it and simply rub soothing circles on her arm.

When we arrive back at packhouse I have everyone except Kyle, Hunter and Daniel stay behind while we go to my cabin. Once inside I’m surrounded by the girls. Chelsey and Hannah fire off question after question to which I simply ignore. I motion for them to step aside and mind link Hunter and Kyle to explain the small details. Daniel follows me up the stairs and to my bathroom where I fill the tub with soapy water. During all this Ashley has stared at my shirt with unseeing eyes.

I remove the shirt and gently set my still-shaking mate in the warm bath. Dirt and grime come off in layers as I run a cloth over her skin. I have her lean back as I lather shampoo in her hair. When I finally consider her clean I drain the tub and wrap a towel around Ashley. I turn and face Daniel who’s watched the whole even with sad eyes. Doc waits in the bedroom and after I dress Ashley I allow him to look her over. “Doc is there any chance she could have gotten-” I’m physically unable to finish my question. “Marked mates cannot conceive by anyone except their mate.” I release a relieved breath.

Hours late I lay on my bed watching Ashley sleep. Just As my eyes begin to shut she screams. My body jolts and I’m suddenly fully awake. “No, no, no! Please,” she begins to mutter frantically. She has her eyes clenched shut and her head snaps from side to side. I gently shake her shoulder in an attempt to wake her. “Kitten, baby wake up.” I coo softly. “It’s just a dream love,” her head slowly stills and her cries quiet. When her eyes open they fly around the room before landing on me. I give her a small smile and go to wipe the tears that have slipped down her cheeks. Once she calms she flinches away from my touch and curls into herself. My heart sinks at her expression: Shame.

Who even am I? Two updates? In two days? I’m shocked! Now just to give ya’ll a warning, the book is going to be winding down pretty soon. I’m thinking about 5-ish chapters. Give or take a few. I already have my next story started so be on the look out for a preview!

I’m thinking about making a sequal/prequel to this story, but I need to know what ya’ll want it to be about. Here is a possibility for a prequel:

It will be about Harry and why he went feral. It will also feature the attack in which The royals were killed. I will most likely call it -Harry (After thought...I’m thinking this will be a mini-prequel)

Here is a possibility for a sequal:

Ashley & Jackson’s children (The next ruler of werewolves)

It will be about the next king/queen of werewolves and will mostly highlight the struggles he/she faces. It will most definitely be a mates story.

I’m not going to give any more details yet because It will spoil what happens next!
