When it’s over he leaves me chained to the wall. Tears stain my face and my whole body feels dirty. The space between my legs throbs and I gag at the sensation. It’s not the first time he’s forced himself on me and I know it won’t be the last. The voice in my head screams it’s all my fault but I block it out. Eventually, sleep pulls me under.

I wake up suddenly two days later to a searing pain in my shoulders. A few seconds later I realize what woke me up. “Ashley!” A female voice is female says. At first, I think I’m imagining it. “Sweetheart you’re not imagining me. My name is Raja. Now if you want my help you must do exactly as I say from now on.” It does not take long for me to come to the conclusion that I am officially crazy. “What do you want from me?” I ask hesitantly.

“I’m only trying to help you. I need you to let me help you.” After thinking it over, I tell the voice in my head that I don’t care what it does. What’s the worst that can happen when It’s an imaginary voice in my head? Before the voice can respond the basement door opens and Sir walks in. My battered body trembles as he walks down the steps. Luckily he simply unchains my hands and yanks me up as he grumbles for me to “Get out of his sight.” I scramble up the stairs and to my room as fast as I can.

“Who are you? Why are you in my head?” I whisper.

“You can just think about what you want to say, and as I said before, I am Raja. I can’t tell you much more. Now, do you give me permission to start the process?”

I cock my head. “What process?”

“I can’t tell you that yet.” All logical signs scream that I shouldn’t let this Raja start whatever process she is talking about but my heart and brain tell her yes.

After my shower, I check the time on my phone.

Saturday, 11:59 pm

Glow in bright letters. Realizing I’ll have to be up in only a few hours, I fall into bed, drifting into sleep right away.
